Let's Watch Spider-Man 3 Again and Find Positive Things To Say About It

Agreed 100%. This movie would have probably been worse with only Sandman. The Venom stuff made the money that much more interesting.

Agreed. Venom was probably the #1 thing that I was anticipating the most prior to Spider-Man 3's release.

Venom looked great in the film.

I will admit that the reflective eyes bug me a little bit, though.

Agreed. Thank God that they didn't give Venom a protruding tongue. It has its problems (a dark symbol that kind of just looks dirty, yellow claws, perhaps more muscle), but I'll take it over the hulking blob with an overly-long tongue and tendrils that some people wanted any day.

I would have liked them just a tad bit more if they were exactly the same color as his teeth (and maybe shorter), but I dug them.

May he should have had toenails... :oldrazz:

I actually thoguht the yellow claws were a neat touch.

I personally would have preferred black. That was how McFarlane and Bagley drew the character, and I think it makes for a better look.

I could take it or leave it, tbh. The nails never bothered me and were minor, if you ask me.

Try not to spam the thread with too many images of what was wrong with Venom, eh?

The point of this thread is what they got right in the movie.

^^ To each his own, I guess. Speaking of his look, I loved how it was a combination of Mcfarlane's as well as Bagley's look.

I can do that easily.

Thank God Venom didn't look like this

Agreed, Godzilla.

Thanks!

I also loved the added touch of the grey spider.

To me, it was too dark, making the spider look like it was very dirty, and undermined the simple white-on-black contrast of the original design. As a result, it didn't stand out enough and blended into the torso.
The shape of the spider itself was great!

It wasn't just that, it was the eyes as well. The Black Spidey suit seemed darker than the Venom suit. If Venom had been darker and the logo/eye had been at least a shiny really silver it would have been just a tad more successful.

I also like how the webbing turned out to look more like veins on Venom.

Venom was plenty dark, but the symbol wasn't light enough. It works best in white to maximize the contrast with the black suit.

Even in those images Venom seemed like a charcoal in color whereas Spiderman was in black.

But yes, the symbol needed to be lighter.
