Lexi Script - My Review

And if Jane had stayed, it would have been awesome to throw in some Taxi Driver type grit in the sequel. That would be the ideal Punisher movie for me.

thatd be awesome, but ill wait until i see lexis film till i say what id rather see or what would be ideal for me

You know, I just got through watching the 04 Punisher again, and the one thing that bothered me the most was that they don't ever actually go into why he decides to become The Punisher.

I mean, the 04 movie is basically a vendetta/revenge story, even though in the movie they claim it's not. The whole thing is about him getting revenge on the Saints. I get that it's an origin story and at the end, he decides he's going to become The Punisher...but they don't do a good job at all of setting that up.

It's pretty radical going from avenging your family to waging a war on crime. I hope Warzone really gives us a feel of Frank's psyche and a real feeling of what drives him: his hatred for criminals.

If you wanna make a Punisher film that's anything like "Analyze This" I don't want you anywhere near the franchise... :funny:

"The look and feel dude."

Most people keep throwing around John Woo's name with The Punisher, all the slow motion and what have you, I don't think it really fits. But to each his own.

One of the things I loved about the '04 movie was that they were going for a Sergio Leon/Sam Peckinpah feel, an urban western. And if Jane had stayed, it would have been awesome to throw in some Taxi Driver type grit in the sequel. That would be the ideal Punisher movie for me.

I just don't get it. how and the Hell could you even mention that film in the same sentence as Punisher? Christ the guy was a psychotic ex Nam vet who took a date to see a porno movie. The whole film was just building up for that one rescue! The same reason I hate the 04 movie, all that buildup for that one hit. You guys seem to want a Pandora's box style Punisher. I want to see multiple brilliant planned hits without a lame ass story with characters that try and get Frank to beleive in "good memories."

I can also say how hell can you mention Analyze This with Punisher?

Besides the fact that Taxi Driver is a good movie, I was talking more of the visual grittiness. Throwing in that type of grit with the "urban western" feel of the '04 version and making 10x meaner (which is what Jane wanted a meaner movie that's less over the top, like not stabbing a guy with a lobster), like I said I think that would be the perfect Punisher movie to me.

Also, Frank's kinda of a "psychotic ex Nam vet" too. They're both flawed human characters that see the world for how dirty it really is, and want to clean it up.

Taxi driver is a good movie, but the two main characters are vastly different. the Taxi driver character is mentally challenged. And as for urban grit I always felt that Punisher was more along the lines of Casino, going from the narratives in Ennis' comics. I was reffering to how the film Analyze this treats violence with comedy, the same treatment I noticed in Ennis early Knights books.

great analogy "Obake" frank is messed up from vietnam.
his family is holding him together,
then they all die badly,..frank has nothing keeping him in check anymore.
the justice system fails.
Here comes:unishr: end of intro!!

Last I checked most movies, especialy comic book movies, have the story build up before the real action begins. Then all the sequals have more of the action. You know that whole trying to appeal to a wider audience thing. movie companies tick off more people that way.:woot:
