Even the most amazing scripts have the potential to turn out like crap.
Yeah, but I'm not worried over Lexi Alexander's direction or the cast. The only thing I've been worried about is the script.
[edit] sorry nevermind, checking it out now.
I'm speechless,
He balances the chair on one leg and starts *
spinning around, arms stretched out, his Rutgers shooting *
more than 1,000 rounds a minute.
I read the script. It isn't complete ****, could've been a whole lot better, and hopefully they were able to fix a lot of stuff.
-Cheesy/cliched dialogue sprinkled thorughout.
-It's pretty over the top, almost laughable.
-The opening, crawling across the table and killing people, comes off kinda dumb. I understand that it's film and creative license is alright, but how it was in the comic was perfect.
-Hannibal Lecter is a fictional character. Hope they caught that one.
-The selling of weapons to terrorists, hopefully was changed.
-Maginty is completely wasted, obviously put in for fan wank.
-The ex-gang banger really was pointless.
-Some characters calling Russo 'Jigsaw', when they shouldn't know he's going by that.
-Luke McDonald has been obviously changed to Budiansky.
-The Billy is dead bit, still ****. He gets the idea by looking intently at a puzzle, lame.
-Micro doesn't come off as annoying, actually works pretty decently.
-LBJ does replace Pittsy in the fight. How good the fight is will depend on how the director shot it.

Why couldnt they let Garth write the frikin script!?
I stopped reading at page 10. It's like one of those films where they want to use all the good characters and lump them in one pot giving minor roles to major character. I didnt like how Cesare had so much dialogue in the beginning. But Im still reading so stay tuned.
well, at least it's not complete ****...
everything depends on how you shoot it, especially with something like the crawling across a table thing... which will hopefully be quick and violent.
Of coarse LBJ and Pittsy are supporting characters but, Maginity was a bad mother****er in Kitchen Irish, he's just completely wasted and useless in this movie. The only reason for him and Bludat are being used in this thing is just fan wank.i don't see how having a lot of characters is a bad thing... the thing with punisher villains is that they're disposable, so there's lots of em and a character like maginty or jigsaw or lbj/pittsy by themselves aren't exactly enough to hold together a film. same goes for the other characters, micro, detectives, etc, the punisher needs a strong supporting cast, because once you learn what makes him tick, it's interesting to see him interact with the people in the real world. hopefully it's not too much of a cluster****.
do you guys feel that warzone is better than 04? i haven't read the script, but it's definitely been shaping up to be so, which isn't saying much i guess... but i still have faith that lexi and the cast have done a good job.

hmmm...
even though i don't exactly understand the sentence structure there and can't make out what he's supposed to be doing with the chair balancing on his leg, wtf? or is he balancing himself on a chair with one leg? whatever, that still sounds a lot better than the boring shootouts in 04, ie: that scene after he took saint's money and he faces those 2 cronies was so anti-climatic. the punisher is a dynamic character... 1,000 rounds a minute? freakin sweet!
because this isn't a perfect world.

They seriously need to promote Garth Ennis, and Lexi would have been better off if they recruited that poor girl to direct Elektra.oi ve let me go fetch my heart pills and vinegar.
This is why they won't let me back into group.
This is an example of one upedness a good artist trying to reverse engineer established perfection. The crawling crap, the red light crap, all uneccessary as it contradicts the way of the mercenary or heavily trained vigilante; quick kill get out. I hope this scene is cut!
agreed 100%
You know Ennis is a Godsend? He has given us characters substantial enough to at least think about when not reading the comics. The Mongolian, The Russian, Cristu, Cuda, all (yet disposable) characters worthy of their own single series. If you beleive what you just said
"the thing with punisher villains is that they're disposable, so there's lots of em and a character like maginty or jigsaw or lbj/pittsy by themselves aren't exactly enough to hold together a film."
I suggest you re-read those stories. Ive discovered comic books themselves give me more thrills then overly adapted movies.
Police Academy 5 was better then 04. Nuff said.
You might want to edit out the swearing in that last pic there, or at least put a spoiler tag with a warning. Just a thought.
