The question you have not answered is why do you think everybody has to have the same love and devotion to comics as YOU do?

They don't. But if they profess to be comic book fans, and come on a comic-book-fan message board to talk about comic books, in the manner that comic-book fans do, then I expect the mother****ers to at least appreciate the form. You seem to despise it.

Some hard to swallow facts: Liefeld is an artist, he's a comic creator, and he's still around.

just a question, to the people who say its horrible and act like they understand and can draw anatomy so well, when are you going to post some of your work in this thread? seriously id love to see what some of you come up with since your all art critics and so damn good, **** i dont even like liefields work, overly large arms and etc is not my style BUT you all talk like you can draw better, LETS SEE IT...

To me the issue isn't really what Liefeld has done. I remember liking his work when he first started, it was different and felt new. But as I grew older and began to see and appreciate different kind of art I realized how bad he really is. It's not the fact that he used to draw really badly it's the fact he's still drawing really badly. There were many artists from that era that people thought were great but looking back now you can see all the mistakes. Look at Jim Lee, Marc Silvestri even McFarlane. When they first started yes, it was new and different but it still wasn't really good...the difference between them and Liefeld, they have imporved a great deal. I still don't like what they do per se, but they have definitely gotten better, where as Liefeld has been pretty much drawing the same way and making the same mistakes over and over again. Whether that's laziness or he just has no real skill I don't know. He needs to take some life drawing classes and learn anatomy among other things. That's not to say that the Cable is his worst it's not, it's not great either. And the pinup has numerous errors in it as well.

And yes I do draw and you want to see my stuff check out my sigs. I may not be the best around but I think I'm above Liefeld.
