Life After People: The Series

Why is it assumed that the planet will out live humans?

I mean we've been around for what 10 or 20 thousand years right? And we've already reached the moon. Dinosaurs were around for 125 million years, imagine were humans will be in 1 million years.

different species of dinos, not just one. we're killing ourselves by making earth unlivable.

Interesting about feral cats forming prides. I wonder how long that would last. They just kind of dropped that after like 50 years.

Cause as a species we are a piece of **** to our own planet. Anyone can see that. We pollute the planet. Thus speeding up Global Warming. If anyone has a right to live on this planet it isn't us.

Right or not isn't the issue. It is surely a possiblity that we will have the rechnology to colonise other worlds and live longer than this planet.

A man will probably walk on another planet before the century is out

EDIT:

Did they ever deal with what would happen to all the weapons that we have created? Do A-Bombs need man to stop them from exploding?

They haven't discussed that yet. I hope they do.

Yeah, they probably will. I recall the original sPecial brought up nucular fallout.

PREVIEW FOR TONIGHT'S EPISODE!

Destructive waters overtake the world we leave behind. Rain floods New Orleans again, and when power goes out in the city's aquarium, it spells doom for thousands of animals. Corrosion from rain brings down Seattle's Space Needle, while humidity in the Middle East wrecks Dubai's space-age structures.

Recap?

I think tonight might be the season finale.

...there is a nuclear submarine that sank in the ocean. Eventually, the nuclear missiles will explode causing a significant explosion under water.

The 'Cash Register' building in downtown Denver has heating elements on its roof to prevent snow from accumulating. The coils will break down causing snow to accumulate. As a result, the snow falls off of the building like an avalanche.

In Pearl Harbor, the ships break from dock and slowly sink. Before that though, overtime the decks are covered with plantlife. It looks like an island.

There is also a 'junk yard' out in the desert out west where all of the planes go for repair or to be decommissioned. The winds blow the planes around and people have to straighten them back up from time to time. With no one there, the planes eventually get buried by all of the sand.

I find it funny that they show this to shock people yet,if it's life AFTER people. We wont be around to see it happen.

I wouldn't necessarily say it's being shown to shock people, but to show people what could likely happen.

Did anyone catch the new episode last night? Apparently, it's been picked up for another season.

Missed the original special, so I'm going to rent it from Netflix and watch it when I have some spare time. I used to watch alot of History & Discovery and I'm glad I can get some of the series and specials via Netflix.

I think it is interesting because we won't be around to see what happened if we all "disappeared", or extinct from Earth. This series give us scenarios that we can see that would probably happen when we are not around.
