I've been a Lizard fan for years. I think I can express my disappointment in a cheeky way, if I want to.

I can't help but agree.
I will always wonder what could have been. I'm not saying I hate the finished product but it isn't exactly great either... i'm indifferent. :/

I dunno, that shot of him peering through the locker is pretty creepy.

I still would've preferred an approach similar to The Fly.

Have The Lizard start out humanoid and intelligent, then have him become more and more reptilian and bestial as the film progresses.

While I still don't like the face, I will admit the stills of him in the lab coat look a lot better. So much so, I wonder why the filmmakers chose to leave out for most of the movie (from what I gather, he'll have it one scene when he transforms in front of the (?)SWAT team(?)). Otherwise, he looks like a generic green CGI monster. The lab coat, like in the comics, really gives him an iconic presence.

It's unfortunate, he won't wear it much. Just my opinion.

I bet my top dollar he wears it for the start of the transformation till he comes out of the sewer or the SWAT Team Fight he has in the convinece store, it tears or comes off.
He doesnt take it off just because the filmakers wanted to.

 

[The Slang]

In the trailer we see that the lizard is wearing a lab coat and a bag during the subway scene. I assume the bag is where he's storing cans of green lizard gas. We also see Spider-man and the lizard in the school during the day and here Lizard is wearing nothing. I'm guessing that the scenes where Lizard has the bag are closer to the end of the movie, meaning we'll likely see him wearing a lab coat at some point AFTER already seeing him naked.

Yeah, I never saw that comparison, I mean there a few things similar with the right facial expression, but it's not really 80% close.

I think The Lizard looks badass.

agreed. Though there will probably always be some wait towards the character, a major amount of that hate is gonna drop when people see the movie I think

And you gotta' admit, he looks a lot better with the coat on than without?

That was the first time I've referenced goomba, because that picture was too good of a similarity not to.

Also, it's interesting they have chosen in the trailer and most of the stills released (save for that recent one on EW), to show him from behind or in a quick motion shot. Not a lot of close-ups of the face. Just saying.
