I'm curious to see how this goes. Each have their own style and aesthetic and I think there some of the best comic book movies ever, so i'm curious to see how they fare against each other.

How come Superman Returns with his superlad aren’t on the list??

Steel is a hugely underrated film that deserves some mention too but obviously no where near the caliber of movies on this list. I am glad it’s getting a good reappraisal after many years of injury and concussive pain.

The Constant Dark Knight praising is amazing. It’s a solid movie but ruined by Bale’s strange Batman raspy voice. His voice was much better in Begins and Ameican Psycho making those two films automatically better than TDK.

Dark Knight then Winter Soldier a close second then Logan third and SM2 comes last - I must be one of the few who finds SM 2 just kind of meh.

If I had to rank:

1. The Dark Knight (10/10)
2. Logan (10/10)
3. Spider-Man 2 (10/10)

4. Captain America: The Winter Soldier (8/10)

The Dark Knight for sure. Then Spider-Man 2. Logan and The Winter Soldier are probably tied at number three. All fantastic movies though.

Tough choice. I think Logan and TWS are probably the ones that succeeded the best with what they aimed for, but I can't make a quick choice.

Spider-Man 2 is so much fun I'd place it easily ahead of Logan on the joy scale, even though the former is considerably inferior in quality.

On the Joy scale Logan is about a minus 100 - It's a great cbm, but I could probably only watch it once every 5 years it's so damn depressing.

I get a lot of joy out of Logan. It is a really well told story, which so much character and heart, that I can't help but enjoy it. Also it has a lot of fun and funny moments, a lot like TDK. I have already seen it at least 10 times, and I really enjoy it every time.

I do find it strange that a lot of people here treat it like it's Schindler's List. Like, it ain't that dark or devoid of fun. :funny:

Dark Knight always wins.
As it should.

A lot of people say The Dark Knight, but for me, it's Spider Man 2. My favorite CBM of all time.

Peter's character arc as a struggling superhero was really well done, thanks to Alvin Sargeant's script and the acting skills of Tobey Maguire.

Peter just had the worst luck in this movie, from trying to care for his poor Aunt, win the heart of the girl he loves, work two jobs just to make ends meet and pay the rent, get to class on time, and on top of it all, save the citizens of New York from crime.

James Franco also gave a great performance as Harry Osborne. His friendship with Peter quickly becomes unglued as he becomes completely obsessed with finding Spider Man. Both he and Peter had really good arcs in the movie.

Otto's transformation was a quite an intense scene for me when I first saw this in theaters way back in 2004. Otto's tentacles straight up murdered a whole staff of doctors in pretty brutal fashion. Sure The Joker killed a lot of people in The Dark Knight, but hearing all those doctors screaming in horror as they were killed one by one was pretty darn haunting for me.

Some people complain about Kirsten Dunst in these films, but I guess I'm in the minority as one who finds the romance really well done here. The scene after the Birthday party was pretty touching, imo, as was Peter's reveal as Spider Man.

'..Hi.'

'Hi.'

'This is really heavy..'

I also admired the theme of self sacrifice, foreshadowed by Aunt May. Just an excellent film all around.
