Should Lois be older then Supes by a couple of years? She was a rival to Cat. But Cat is also like late 40s...but her competing with a late 20something at the time would just feel strange.

I dunno, my own personal headcanon is that Lois was the young upstart who came along and got all of Perry's praise and attention, despite Cat's years of hard work for him, and that was what kicked her ass into gear into getting her empire off the ground. So I've always imagined Cat a great deal older than Lois in this universe. And Clark had like barely started at the Planet by the time Cat left.

Oooh, I strongly disagree about Hoechlin. Henry is the boyish-looking Superman to me. I was shocked to learn Tyler's age because when I saw this pic:

I thought he could EASILY be pushing 40. If you put Henry's Supes side-by-side with Tyler's, I would straight-up assume Tyler was the older one. He has "old face" to me, lol.

Well I wouldn't say he looks like he's pushing 40. What he looks like is a classic 50s leading man who tended to look more like a man than a boy. Not that Cavill looks so much of a boy, but Tyler looks more of a man, if you get what I mean.

Hoechlin looks similar to Jeffrey Hunter who played Captain Pike in the Star Trek pilot and also Jesus in King of Kings. I wanted Hoechlin for the role of Captain Pike in Star Trek Discovery. Since both roles are guest stars, he could easily have done both.

Rashida Jones is a good idea imo for Lois. She looks like the character and like she could be related to Jenna Dewan.

Honestly...part of me hopes they go with a somewhat older Lois. Because there are women in real life who appear (or just are) older than the men they’re dating, which is perfectly fine.

Jenna is 37....so I dont think being 42 really matters. Of course they'll retcon Lois to be much younger. And they could be half sisters.

I hope that they go with an older Lois Lane. I view her as a contemporary of Cat Grant, possibly even a year or two older.

And we see plenty of relationships between older men and younger women on TV, why not change it up a little. She’s far too famous, but I’d be very happy with someone along the lines of Jennifer Connelly.

If she hadn't already been Lisa Snart, then Peyton List could've made a good Lois Lane. She already played Lucy Lane on Smallville. Of course, she's younger than Jenna.

Maybe they'll get someone like Meghan Ory, who used to be on the show Intelligence.

But a lot of actresses are going to be younger than Jenna, unless they do go older than her.

To review the chronology: When the series began, present day Kara was 24ish. And according to their own narrative, Superman would have been 36ish. Now, four years later, Superman (though he looks younger thanks to superpowers ) should be pushing 40. Therefore, Lois (his contemporary) should be the same age - if not slightly older.

All that said, I expect they’ll hire a Lois actress who’s a close match to Hoechlin’s actual age (30) - because this will seem more natural and canonically traditional. IOW, to hell with the “realistic” chronology.

She was great in Warehouse 13! I wouldn't object to her as Lois.

But I think I would prefer Rashida Jones. She fits with her 'sister' in looks, plus, I think she even looks a little like Margot Kidder.

A 30-year-old next to a 39-year-old isn't exactly visually jarring, so I don't see there being that big of an issue. It's not like he's 11 and she's 20.

Maybe they'll get Kristen Kreuk as Lois. She's the right age and they like bringing back former Superman cast members. Plus she's an alumni of the CW.

I don't know who any of those people are, except Lucy Hale and Molly Quinn, to both of which I say, "Hell No." I don't care how old they actually are, they seem like children. Lois is a damn seasoned reporter with well over a decade of glory days under her belt in this universe. Quinn's Castle co-star Stana Katic would be more appropriate.
