Supergirl Lois casting

Stana Katic would be in the same ballpark as Sophia Bush, but I don't know if they could afford either one of them.

I don't really see Sophia Bush being out of their league. At least not for a three-episode arc.

Just read the premise. Sounds potentially interesting.

But I saw it only premieres in Spring 2019. So Cohan could have time to film as Lois Lane.

I still would probably prefer someone else though.

But definitely not Molly Quinn as Lois. That would be a joke.

Mid season shows film during this time. Plus she is still doing TWD.

One thing they need to remember is that at this moment in time, Grant Gustin is the youngest Arrowverse big character ringing in at 28. Even Ruby is in her 30s so there is no way that Lois or whoever plays her should be younger then 30.

I don't know who any of those people are, except Lucy Hale and Molly Quinn, to both of which I say, "Hell No." I don't care how old they actually are, they seem like children. Lois is a damn seasoned reporter with well over a decade of glory days under her belt in this universe. Quinn's Castle co-star Stana Katic would be more appropriate.

That might not be a bad option. She had nine years on Castle to hone her craft. Her chemistry with Nathan Fillion was a highlight of the series - almost like the Lois & Clark dynamic sans superpowers.

Plus, she has experience playing Lois - she voiced the character in the animated movie Superman: Unbound.

I look forward to seeing Lois in this.

Molly Quinn also voiced Supergirl in one of the other animated movies.

I think in heels, Stana Katic might be too tall for Hoechlin.

I suggested her already. She'd be good too. Did she possibly audition for the role of Chyler Danvers but lost out to Chyler Leigh? I seem to recall reading something like that.
She's pretty much only casting choice for it for the show.

Superman would definitely cease to be super if his girlfriend were taller than him in heels. What a tragedy.

He can fly, he can always levitate and remain taller. Now I want to make this happen.

Stana is already 40. And she looks about that age too or older. When she was at the start of Castle or early seasons she might've been suitable for Lois.

Oh my stars, she's 40. I hope she hasn't lost her AARP card.

TVInsider and former EW contributor Damian Holbrook posted a short list to his Twitter yesterday:

Tyler Hoechlin has ties to three of those actresses: Arden Cho and Holland Roden were two of his co-stars on Teen Wolf, and Molly Quinn was a regular on Castle (on which Hoechlin guest-starred in Season 2 of that series as a music instructor who took a particular liking to Alexis, much to Castle's chagrin).

If you read the comments he says that’s just his personal list.
There's a reason the guy ain't a casting director.

Yeah if those are his personal picks, despite what he may claim, it seems clear he doesn't actually watch the show, lol. They've made it crystal clear on multiple occasions that Lois has a history that wouldn't remotely allow her to be younger than Supergirl.

Autumn Reeser would be a quality choice, and if Adelaide Kane wasn't so young, I'd be all for her. So his list is still worse.

I'm finding it really easy to imagine Tyler and Autumn Reeser being great together for some reason. Also worth noting, she has a history with some of the writers/producers of this show who worked on No Ordinary Family, so she seems like a realistic possibility.

I wouldn't be opposed to Autumn Reese as Lois. She's got great comedy chops. But is she a little too comedic and light? Does she come across as an ambitious reporter?

She may as well end it all now being ....*GASP* 40!

I don’t think this is about ageism, per se. Indeed, I think most fans agree that this version of Lois should be about 40 (same age as Clark/Supes) - according to the show’s own internal “logic” and chronology. So on that basis, someone like Katic would be perfectly fine.

That said, those same fans are anticipating that the producers will ignore their own logic and hire a Lois who’s much closer to Hoechlin’s actual age. Therefore, a 40ish actress (who looks 40ish) will be disqualified.

I have not read through this thread, or looked at the suggestions, I am just going to throw out the name Missy Peregrym.
