I don't know why I assumed they'd aim for PG-13, but, from BoxOfficeMojo-

MPAA Rating: R for strong violence, language, some sexuality/nudity and drug use.

Yeah, it was giving off kind of a PG-13 vibe to me in the previews. It's like the 80s all over again with all these R rated flicks.

Does the movie deal with telekinesis as well as time travel.

I saw a clip where it looked like a woman was levitating a lighter.

Minor spoilers ahead, nothing that will ruin the movie:

It's a genetic mutation. A ton of people can do it but they can just move around tiny, basic stuff.

I think the combo of an interesting Sci-Fi concept and Joseph Gordon-Levitt has me very much looking forward to this.

Some people are saying the makeup job they gave him looks a little uncanny valley, but it adds to the sci-fi aspect to me.

He doesn't really look like Willis imo. I'm sure it'll be a good movie though.

He did nail Willis' vocal pattern though, I will give him that.

Have to say, this looks pretty good. And it isn't a rehash or a remake. Bravo!

I was thinking that if Joe could play a younger version of anyone it would be more accurately done with Tony Danza.

Whoever cast them on Joe's movie as father and son is a genius :funny:

This seems to get raving reviews!
IGN: [BLACKOUT]8/10[/BLACKOUT]
Looper is one of the year’s most engaging sci-fi films, one that works as both a thriller and a character piece about people faced with making big life decisions (often at the business end of Blunderbuss). It could have all been insanely gimmicky, but Looper is instead tastefully executed.
Total Film: [BLACKOUT]5/5[/BLACKOUT]
The best sci-fi movie since Moon. The best time-travel yarn since 12 Monkeys. And one of the best films of 2012. You’ll immediately want to see it again.

Never would have thunk :wow: Looks like a day one!

Ya the reviews have been great. Awesome, very excited for this.

Rian Johnson is gonna get offered a Marvel/DC something or other if this does well.

as far as i know his next thing is also a sci fi.. at least he was writing one in the last couple of months (maybe finished by now, dunno)..

Anything with time travel involved and I'm game, add to that how good Looper looks and it's no surprise I'm as stoked as ever for this. Can't believe how much JGL has grown on me (and I didn't dislike him before) this year with 50/50 and – more than anything – The Dark Knight Rises.
