So what was better? The TCs or the Extended Editions?
I am looking forward to 'The Hobbit' trilogy, someone please shoot me.
LOL!!!Since when the f**k is it a trilogy?
But the Witchking's death was in the theatrical version, unless you're talking about his small faceoff with Gandalf which was an improvement but not really necessary. Saruman was the biggest omission that should've been in the theatrical version though. At least Return of the King pays off the setups to Witch King and Gothmog, which are not in theatrical version. That's bad editing and storytelling.

Oh yes, I forgot about that line. In hindsight, if they were going to cut the confrontation, that line should have been dropped from the theatrical as well.It was necessary because Witchking said like he's going to deal with him and break him. Set up but no delivery. And the face off was adapted fairly well from the book.
I find Extended versions to be unwatchable. More doesn't always mean better. They're so bloated, that I just fall asleep. Awful pacing and majority of extended material doesn't add anything to the story, which focuses Frodo's journey. So what was better? The TCs or the Extended Editions?
I always watch the extended versions because as bloated as they are, I still love the content. Return of the King especially benefits from the extended cut by showing the conclusion of Saruman's storyline.I find Extended versions to be unwatchable. More doesn't always mean better. Theatricals are amazing.
