Yeah, you're correct. There are still lots of things unseen that could make enough material for a new DVD release.lujho said:And while I don't think there would be a "deleted scenes" gallery there could be some "deleted shots", plus test footage for costumes, actors auditions etc. And a commentary or 2 of course.
To say there's not a lot they could put on a new DVD except a commentary is quite incorrect.
lujho said:The Begins DVD was not very meaty at all. While the extras were more than "fluff", they were only moderately in depth. Yeah, there was about 2 hours of documentary (or less?)... but it just wasn't particularly... heavy.
So there could be a MUCH better, more exhaustive documentary (think the Alien Quadriligy doccos, Kronenberg's The Fly, Peter jackson's movies (Kong, LOTR, Frighteners). Plus tonnes of stills galleries showing us EVERYTHING, including all the design work that didn't make it.

Katsuro said:Not according to Nolan. He said the movie we saw is exactly what he wanted. It's exactly what he envisioned, and anything that was filmed then cut was done so by him because he himself thought it didn't work for the movie. Perhaps it didnt pace well with the rest of the film, or just didn't fit with the theme, but whatever reason, it was his choice, no one elses.
ChrisBaleBatman said:Or maybe it was the editor?
mcflytrap said:The editor doesn't cut scenes w/out the director's approval.
ChrisBaleBatman said:It's practically a certainty that the studio edited it.
Thing is, some directors film stuff.....and might not give edits enough chance to change.
There were things cut.......ya just know WB is planning to cash in on it with the SE.
Director's Cut? That's reaching waaaayyyyy too far. That would imply atleast an extension or different ending or something major.....which I doubt. Just a few scenes here and there that are gone. That's all.
Uhh, that's nonsense. Nolan confirmed the film is cut exactly the way he wanted and WB was completely supportive and made sure he was allowed to do anything he wanted.
Nolan also confirmed that there will be no other editions for Batman that the film is finished as is. Like other's have said though, there are probably scenes Nolan cut himself and other production work saved up for another release as extras.
