Nathan why are you naked?
I don't. I broke off contact with my very best friend over a year ago, simply because I didn't feel like hanging out anymore.
It's amplified everything, including the positive. We don't always see that side of it though or recognize it.I think the internet has actually made us meaner. It's easier to for mayhem and cruelty because yeah, you aren't face to face with an actual person. Most folks wouldn't behave that way in person.
Anyone here hike a mountain? I have recently had the urge to explore the wilderness. I'm also deathly afraid of getting lost and dying in the forest.
I've done drunken camping before. If I can surive it drunk a sober man can survive anything.Anyone here hike a mountain? I have recently had the urge to explore the wilderness. I'm also deathly afraid of getting lost and dying in the forest.
Plus, I tend to believe the more time it spends with the delivery company (USPS, FEDEX, UPS, etc) the more likely it will be mishandled or damaged.
I did accidentally once while trying to walk home from school. It did not go well.Anyone here hike a mountain? I have recently had the urge to explore the wilderness. I'm also deathly afraid of getting lost and dying in the forest.
Ahhh crap you guys are no help!
I was wondering if you were going to do serious hiking if you needed any kind of prerequisites. I know outdoor survival training is almost a must but I didnt know if ti was like scuba diving or sky diving where you need specific certificates to do it on your own. I assume no, but I was curious.
I second this only I think you can take out 1. entirely. How to hike:
1. put on clothes
2. leave house
3. hike
4. return home
OK I'm not talking about a hill in your backyard LV. I'm talking about like the Pocono Mountains or the Rockies. Ya smartass
Ugh, I shouldn't of opened my mouth.
That's the gist of it. I used to hike all the time. It wasn't remote wilderness or anything but it was still in a forest and it was possible to get lost.
Really the only things you need to go hiking in the woods (provided it is not a remote location) are the proper clothes (preferably clothes that provide some insulation from the elements, sturdy shoes and maybe a hat), someone to know when you're leaving, expecting to return and to have at least a bottle of water on hand in case you need it.
edit: Okay, hiking something like that you'll need more than just a days worth of rations or water.
