Why couldn't Duncan just make a sequel to Moon? Considering that, apart from decent Source Code, Moon is his only great film - it seems that he can only make one when he points camera at Sam Rockwell and multiplies him if he needs to have a scene featuring a conversation

I feel kinda bad for Joss actually. At the end of the day, he was just a hired gun. He did everything the studio asked for. Sure, he went a bit too far in scenes like boob face-planting and Aquaman just going on a lusting rant about Diana. But blaming JL's failure on him is completely unwarranted. The real people who need to be held accountable are WB. A 1 hour 50 min mandated runtime? And Joss still had to work in nice character interactions and some semblance of character arcs? Yep. I don't believe he had full creative control there either. Still, what he did put in created unnecessary tonal shifts within the movie itself.

Plus there's that 'cheating on his wife' thing in personal life, though that's more on him as a person rather than criticism of his work.

The irony is he was hired to help "fix" the DCEU and his statements about Batgirl are the exact sort of things that a lot of people didn't like about the previous movies in the first place (quality aside, of course). Batgirl is not a "damaged" character with deep rooted psychological issues and trauma that drive her. Unless he's talking the Cassandra Cain version of the character. Batgirl is a character like Shazam where if you're trying to go super dark and gritty with her, you've missed the point.

We absolutely need a sequel to MoS, a Flash origin movie and a solo Batman movie, just having Batman appear in BvS, SS and JL is doing disservice to the character.

But we are getting a solo Flash and a solo Batman.
