Kane is bald, like a hollow tree without leaves.

Rewatching Dr Strange...

Him being one of my favorite characters in Infinity War made me wanna watch the solo again, and I appreciate it much more on second viewing. The story is simple and familiar (I called it "Dr Stark" before, which I think it's fair but not completely accurate), but it has gorgeous visuals that I didn't give enough credit before and it definitely brings the crazy psychedelic world of those 70s comics to life and the action and fight scenes are perfectly executed (I actually think I like the action here better than Black Panther, but I still need to rewatch that one), and Benedict Cumberbatch is always a win. I loved seeing Strange maturing in his role of Earth Protector and Sorcerer Supreme in Infinity War (actually made me really want to watch it again, hopefully tonight) and I'm now more than before looking forward to seeing more of Strange in the future.

I assume in the next phase it'll be him, Black Panther, Spiderman and Captain Marvel (depending on how she's received, but I think they'll push for her anyways) fronting the MCU.

HAPPY 10th BIRTHDAY IRON MAN, MCU MARATHON BEGINS:

  • Say what now? All these bullet holes in an armored car and nothing touches Tony there?
  • Armor piercing rocket blows up at his face, flesh under kevlar is damaged badly, everything around is almost unscathed.
  • That girl is here to roast Tony, he offers her sex, she willingly takes it instantly. C'mon, it's weird.
  • Yinsen wears a really clean suit for a guy who should be very sweaty and in such a dusty environment.
  • If not for Stark weapons all around, I'd have my doubts about where he was able to retain material to build his miniaturized arc reactor.
  • The great music composed by Ramin Djawadi is as fine as it's been since day one, still great.
  • Pretty quick loading for 2008 technology used in a cave, proof that Stark is an actual genius.
  • The 10 Rings should be annihilated by that massive explosion, but they survive to later tell Obidiah about the remnants of the armor. But that is their way to make way for the essential climax battle to an action movie.
  • Tony's arm was fine, there was no need for the arm suspender.
  • Rhodey, dude, I wanted Terrence Howard to listen.

Out of the 10 points I listed above, 4 or 5 are issues I have with the movie, the rest of it is almost perfectly fine.

The saddest part of IW:

We miss you Hulk #Neverforget

I think the way IW [Blackout]ended[/Blackout] was a smart way of ensuring people go to see Captain Marvel.

And yup I'm figuring regardless of which of the originals stick around, the new Avengers-lineup will have Black Panther, Spider-Man, Captain Marvel, Doctor Strange and Ant-Man & Wasp involved.

At the pace I'm going, I might actually be done with Phase 1 of MCU in two days.

I'm gonna rewatch that tonight after the vile and awful Red Sparrow finally ends :/

Yeah Strange is SO MUCH better in IW than in his solo flick
