Justice League Lounge of Justice - Part 87

Anything that would mark him out from other superheroes, a moment when he displayed wisdom that could be considered remarkable or even superhuman? Or did he just stop acting foolish for a bit?

I would say a little bit of both, but there are a few moments that I think he figures things out in a way that you could argue was a result of the Wisdom of Solomon adding to his intuition. Billy is a pretty streets-smart kid, so it's hard to know for sure, but I can think of at least 2 scenes in particular that were moments of real insight on Shazam's part. Wisdom of Solomon is pretty hard to pin down as a power. I mean, Superman, Batman, and WW may have figured out the same things, but they are all older and much more experienced, so for a 14 y/o to come up with a couple of strategies in the final act that he did come up with, you could argue it was beyond his years.

Shazam is everything I could’ve asked for outta that film and more. Felt like a kid again. Horror directors might make the best CBM directors.

Loved the Black Adam reference. Looked just like The Rock.

I got a kick out of
Mr. Mind during the first Rock of Eternity scene, and thought that was just a nice throwaway Easter egg until the mid credits scene.

I will say, while I gave it a 7.5 (I usually don't actually give scores to films, so 7.5 doesn't really mean too much one way or the other), I thought the final 30-40 minutes were really enjoyable. Probably from the moment
Sivana shows up to fight Shazam the first time through the rest of the movie.

Saw it...it's easily the best DECU film by a mile. I loved every minute of it.

It's no hyperbole when I say it's the best DC film I've seen since The Dark Knight.

Its gonna be interesting to see what they do with a sequel given that the kid actors in the movie are all gonna be a lot taller and maybe even sound different when they next go into production.

I enjoyed Shazam, but overall I was a little disappointed. Maybe I was expecting more? I'm not sure, but I know almost none of the humor worked for me and I feel like it took too long to really get going

No movie is perfect for everyone. At least you enjoyed it!

I was just really looking forward to it. Only comic book movie I was looking forward to more is Endgame and Shazam didn't "Wow" me like I expected/hoped it would
Yeah I know the feeling, sometimes I go into movies with high expectations and the film doesn't quite reach them. I hope Endgame delivers for you....and for us all!

Reading some of them Shazam reactions and can't feel but laugh at Cavill's agent/camp:

I can't wait to rent it from redbox tho.

Directing debut of screenwriter Isabella Eklof (Border), which I liked very damn much.

A somewhat new version of Lolita, but just not as interesting. The opening sequence is top notch. There is also a very well acted dance scene in front of a mirror, you can see what the character is about in that moment, but nothing more. Random ramblings that leads nowhere. This ain't even good style over substance. It does kinda mirror what some of these instagram models do who post from yachts and pics from Dubai/exotic places, yup, this is how they do it.

I do admire the balls on these european women directors ( Coralie Fargeat-REVENGE, Julia Ducournau -RAW) and now Eklof tho. They don't hold back on sexuality and violence. They see the tragic beauty in that. A good effort but simply ok. 6/10

Just watched some snippets of the Vero Watchmen Q&A. The blogs are gonna have a field day with many of his statements.

I’m no longer sure he’ll remain diplomatic for tomorrow. Seemed like he was doubling down on every creative decision he made and was laughing off people that criticized him.

Ive been wondering how that event was going and if anyone asked him about you know what. Tomorrow should be VERY interesting.

These Q&A’s are populated with his fans, so I think he’s more open to stating how he really feels. It caught me off-guard the way he talked about people criticizing his direction for Bats and Supes. There was definite fire in there.

Snyder needs to get in a panel with some peers, and some “opponents” for good measure. It doesn't have to get heated, but I'd love for these guys to bounce off one another with such different viewpoints.

God I have seen the SAME trailer for Shazam in front of every movie I saw in the last 6 months. Ugh. It looks fun but that marketing :/

also lol at Cavill, he cannot even get a cameo now

I completely disagree with just about all the viewpoints that Zack Snyder doubled down on at his director’s cut thing, but I’m actually glad that he’s definitively clarifying his views on the genre now instead of just giving vague one word answers like he does on his social media app.

The reaction to him pretty much pouring kerosene on the fire will be quite entertaining to watch, on both sides.

Well to be fair, he was the one that turned it down. I mean if it wasn't for the boneheaded advises given to him by his current agent, then we may have finally gotten his Superman to appear in a film that was a critical hit.

Its probably better off that Sam catches it on Redbox

I’m just imagining him sitting in a theater full of families and talking kids and him just being in his own personal hell, wishing early male pattern baldness upon each and every one of them, Lol.

Bad decision by Cavill, he had the time, and it wouldn't have taken up much time to shoot it either, hell even Ben Affleck agreed to do a cameo as Batman in Suicide Squad even though it was not a part of his initial contact.

Man i cannot wait for us to be able to talk spoilers openly but THAT scene is guaranteed to ruffle feathers and be the subject of many geek blog articles for several weeks.
