Im down for it. Each film could have its own creative identity and go wild with its own ideas and concepts without having to worry about how it effects film X,Y or Z.

People keep trying to replicate Marvel’s model and it cannot be replicated.

They basically just reaffirmed the initial stance of "We don't give a #### about maintaining continuity" anymore.
> New Batman not connected to the Snyderverse
> Shazam and BOP exist in the Snyderverse

WB has clearly stopped giving a damn

Didn’t say it’s not connected necessarily, just not going to really mention it. I think this is essentially a soft reboot. If things continue to go well the next 4 years or so they’ll look into another JL.

Yeah I read the NFO description of that cut...

I don't like the behaviour of some DCEU hardcores/extremist

But seriously those using THR poll to bash Affleck needs to get a life

It's apparently going to take a while for people to realize that WB is making some movies that are standalone period, some movies that are standalone that could be crossed over into a larger universe if well received, while also making movies that may not directly reference previous movies in the, but are nontheless essentially connected to, the existing DCEU.

They are not taking one single approach with any of their movies.

It's really not that complicated, and they're not being especially subtle about it.

Actions speak louder than words in this case. There's the company line, which people like to hear, and there's what the company is actually doing.

I mean, Christian Bale and Michael Keaton polling higher than Ben isn't really shocking since their movies were better received. That's not Ben's fault, but it is sort of indicative of how there's a bit of a disconnect between the more hardcore fans and the general audience.

I still see some people who insist Reeves' Batman will not go over well because audiences will refuse to accept anyone other than Affleck in the role, and that's just simply not true at all. Ben was great but the audience connection there isn't anything unshakable.

I agree that the GA isn't very receptive to Ben's Batman especially post-JL and anyone calling him the best ever in Batman's pop culture is fooling themselves.

But I wouldn't back up the claim with the poll that got HB as the top Catwoman in US lol

Also RP and Hoult are neck to neck according to the poll which is interesting, THR still tried to spin it by saying the 20-29 demo support RP the most (even though it's only 42:30%, not as huge as the perception in this forum), and Hoult basically won the demo from 30-60 y/o. Maybe oldies liked Twilight? lol. Would love to see Hoult in DCEU or Batman though.

hard to tell until they actually pump out these films and see what WB do with them, if Harley movies are huge hits what are they gonna do with Catwoman, Batgirl etc...is Reeves involved in those casting or he just has nothing to do with it, what if JJ chooses Sup and he picks Cavill =P and The Rock wants Superman, will they stick with standalone? The rumored Black Adam film is totally a backdoor pilot for JSA lol.

I was unsure when the SS insisted it's a reboot, until most of the members returned lol

One thing for sure, WB is flexible and reactive still, and everything is fluid.

They just say the "political correct" terms to please the press who makes up positive headlines to impress the general moviegoers

And here I thought Catwoman was one of the most hated movies ever

Maybe WB should hit up Halle Berry for a sequel? :hmm

Matt Reeves' Batman is set within DCEU, but this Batman trilogy is set in past, Bats will not be seen with other superheroes.

This way Reeves is making stand alone movies set within DCEU.

No way WB will throwaway DCEU just because some fans hate it, they will revamp it and go forward.

Black Adam is coming, followed by Shazam 2, New Gods and Suicide Squad 2 with The Trench and Aquaman 2, reboot what ?

I think that's just rumors for now, but I have a feeling they're gonna make a couple of them and see where they go from there, while keeping it ambiguous so everyone can have their ice and cake, would be funny if they do 8 years of trilogy and RP will be about the same age as Ben in 2016 and they just team up with Gal/Jason/Margot etc and pretend nothing happened lol

I'm sure Gal/Jas/Margot/Zach will all look the same in 10 years, lol, if Zach looks 60 in 2029 then we can always get Angel to play Shazam =P

Ya, the same people who used Catwoman's poor cinemascore to beat up BvS (they have the same score) are the ones using this poll to diss Affleck right now

If they wanna be consistent they need to hail for a Catwoman 2 starring Halle Barry as not Selina Kyle

I think DC are taking an X-Men style approach to continuity.
It's supposed to all be connected, but they don't really care if there are inconsistencies.

No big inconsistencies so far, it's already looking better than those X Men movies, I really doubt that WW84 will be responsible for some soft reboot like some are saying, Patty ain't going to let WB use her movie to do some course correction, eh.

I think Halle Berry is generally more popular than Pfeiffer or Hathaway, so that could be one reason.
I want to make a joke, but I don't know if it's politically correct approved or not.

You should feel my pain, my grief, my inner turmoil... it's so profound.

Like that opening cutscene from Symphony of the Night.

They should avoid that poll, for all our sake, and just watch Halle Berry accepting her Razzie for that garbage I still refuse to watch.
Agreed.

That movie is garbage pure and simple. I didn't like the story, the fighting sequences, there's that dreadful cgi, and the characters were bad to meh for me. I hated watching it, and if I remember correctly, some of the fight scenes made me feel a tiny bit nauseous the one time I watched it.

You're so lucky to have never seen it.
