Thing is, every studio has dumb ideas, or embarrassing decisions or cancellations.
The Sony leaks were certainly eye-opening in that regard. I mean, I knew they had some dumbasses there, but I had no idea just HOW dumb. Those Powerpoints were a goddamn revelation to me. It's amazing that any movies get made at all if these are the types of people running movie studios.

WB's also just worse at PR and preventing leaks. I don't know why, but they are. Thing is, every studio has dumb ideas, or embarrassing decisions or cancellations. Even one as successful as Disney, and I'm sure the MCU had ideas floated around from time to time that were also dumb and quickly nixed. That's just part of the business. Everyone's got dirty laundry.

The difference is, we aren't constantly hearing about those. With WB (and their DC films in particular), we know every single bit of news months in advance and every single plan or idea, regardless of whether or not it was seriously considered or ever actually made it past the brainstorming stage.
Once again I would agree with this if not for the same answer they gave for canceling Swamp Thing is the same of they have for not putting out the SC We have know idea if the movie was good or bad. The only real thing we have to go off of is that they wanted to go in a different direction.

We have know idea if the movie was good or bad.
I mean, we have the rest of Snyder's filmography as clues, lol. All the BTS chatter was hardly off-base. His direction was clear.

Swamp Thing is not the same case at all - it is fresh-out-of-the-gate and everyone who watches it seems to love it. That seems more a case of DCU being on the verge of implosion and at odds with their new AT&T overlords.

But that's the thing his movies split the fan base. Some of us including myself liked them and some didn't and then there's though who just thought they were ok. And actually it was really BVS that split the fan base most people liked MOS.

But that's the thing his movies split the fan base. Some of us including myself liked them and some didn't and then there's though who just thought they were ok.
And then there's the vast majority of the moviegoing audience who outright rejected it.

If it was outright rejected BVS wouldn't have made 845 million dollars. It would've made JL or X-Men dark Phoenix numbers.
Did you see that drop?! Those legs? That Cinemascore? Come on now.

Both that AND MoS should've made a billion. They had everything going for them to hit that mark except quality/audience reception.

When BvS failed to make a billion, that's when I stopped watching the rest of DC's output. They'll be taking my money now after Aquaman, Shazam and Wonder Woman. The same couldn't be true after BvS.

it has been said time and time again, a movie with batman and superman sharing the same screen for the first time ever should have been worth a billion alone

Everyone and their mother probably saw it once and clearly once was more than enough for most. It was for me.

@Spider-Aziz So Marvel finally revealed what the countdown was for.

A new #1, of course.

WB’s PR team sucks. I’m still baffled by their decision to announce Swamp Thing’s cancelation only 1 week after the premier.

I thought the same thing, but then I read an article about how they had initially kept up the extensive swamp set they had built for the show thinking that they could just re-use it for Season 2 if/when it comes, but when it got canceled and they were asked to break it all down, at that point, there's no way the news of the cancellation wasn't going to get out... so that's why I think it got out.

Yeah, I don't think they intended to announce Swamp Thing's cancellation when they did. Word just got out to the trades and the they didn't deny it.

Cant wait for the truth about Swamp Thing to leak. I’m sure its juicy, scandalous and involves a dead rabbit. Lol

I honestly doubt it's that juicy, tbh. I think it's just...the show was expensive, DCU is struggling, and the new AT&T overlords had other things they deemed more worth the time/money.
