I mean, is it really surprising to anyone that this has the support of die hards and people who spent months of their lives working on it? OF COURSE they want their work to see the light of day. This is hardly news.

Agreed that's what the cast and crew said once the movie came out and they voiced their support for the SC back then.

Haven’t these Snyder cut enthusiasts realized that even if they get their movie, that it’ll be just a part 1 with no conclusion?

Or at least the guy who got his first "big role" in a blockbuster and got cut out. Can't imagine why he'd support it!

Yeah. Porter seems like a nice guy, but it's not any sort of mystery why he's gonna milk this for all its worth. For otherwise unknown actors like that who are only notable for a genre role, having a fan following that gets you invited to conventions and stuff essentially becomes your bread and butter.

Some of these out of work sci-fi actors make some serious bank signing paid autographs and stuff like that.

Yeah, that's why those Supernatural guys seemed perfectly happy to continue that show and basically do nothing else with their careers for the last decade. I saw a recent THR article stating CW stars like them and Stephen Amell are getting roughly $250,000 per con, and movie stars like Chris Evans get half a million per con appearance. That's for one DAY's work. Now obviously someone like Porter wouldn't net nearly that much but still, those things are a gold mine for anyone who can get a following of genre fans.

So what happens if these fans get the Snyder Cut? Then what? Do they expect WB to get down on their knees and beg Snyder to come back and finish his vision?

''Here you go Zack, have all our money and potentially make us bankrupt because your box office returns are disappointing and drop like hell in the second weekend, but as long as you get to finish your vision that's the main thing!''

Is that first part a joke?

Depends on which vision of the cut lol, if it's the cut he showed the suits early 2017 then I think that one was wrapped up as the conclusion. If they want the Lois/batcave/darkseid stuff then it's a bit hard since they haven't shot that yet lol, it's exciting just typing about it lol hope someone direct this before we get old

Any DC tweet gets barrage by the Snyder Cult. WB has got the word alright. Doubt they'd release though if It's not in the same vein like Blade Runner. :funny:

But the funny thing about it is, this type of thing happens ALL the time with big budget studio films. Directors get kicked out, things get refilmed, footage gets replaced, actors get recast etc and yet this movie seems to have this found this ferverent groundswell from fans AND people involved with the movie to deliver a directors cut and it wont die. I havent heard anyone asking for the original Rogue One Cut or Trank Cut of Fant4stic.

Believe it or not i think the Snyder Cut movement is really the studio’s own creation. Not only did they horribly mismanage the movie itself, they did an even worse job keeping a lid on it on what happened behind the scenes. You dont see anyone badmouthing Disney about Solo or Rogue One’s original cuts do you? Thats because they know how to handle these type of things. If i recall correctly, the very DAY JL came out, actors and VFX artists and production crew members came out and started spilling beans on what the movie was supposed to be and i think thats how this whole thing started.

I must admit to smoking a good j and letting that dystopian bvs future plot moments run wild before. I’d pay good money for an animated flick or comic, video game. Mad Max Batman and WW running wild.

There's an element of tribalism that contributed to the fervor. The first few DCEU movies were already either divisive or outright panned, and as a result a lot of the fan movement around them grew very strong and defensive minded about them. We saw this with how quickly the discourse around Batman v. Superman devolved into "Critics must've secretly thought it was a masterpiece but were bribed by Disney to only support the MCU!" insanity. These people make everything a Marvel vs. DC issue, and even now there are fans insisting that Disney somehow found Snyder's discarded script and stole it to make Endgame.

These people dedicated a lot of their time and interest to something they felt they had to constantly defend, and the shoddy treatment of Snyder and his last movie, especially after the tragedy that befell his family, galvanized their resolve.

WB has never been as image conscious as Disney. Probably because they don't have an established "brand" to protect. So yeah, a lot of this is just them not caring enough to serve people with cease and desists like the Mouse would have, lol.

But yes, @MbJ is also correct that the already established DC vs. Marvel tribalism helped feed the fervor in a big way. If Rogue One had been the culmination that was supposed to be Star Wars' "big moment" and instead ended up as a big mess due to all the BTS meddling, you can bet the Star Wars cult would be just as rabid right now.

Random film thoughts.

Scorpion King movie and his appearance in the second mummy contradict that character traits, like goddamn. Ruthless and evil in Returns, but a man of the people in the solo. Also, that asian gal was all kinds of hnngh.

I’m also bummed we never got a third to them Jackie Chan and Owen Wilson flicks. I also wanted a sequel to Wedding Crashers.

WB's also just worse at PR and preventing leaks. I don't know why, but they are. Thing is, every studio has dumb ideas, or embarrassing decisions or cancellations. Even one as successful as Disney, and I'm sure the MCU had ideas floated around from time to time that were also dumb and quickly nixed. That's just part of the business. Everyone's got dirty laundry.

The difference is, we aren't constantly hearing about those. With WB (and their DC films in particular), we know every single bit of news months in advance and every single plan or idea, regardless of whether or not it was seriously considered or ever actually made it past the brainstorming stage.

In other news: very cautiously optimistic about Far From Home. All these reactions saying its better than Raimi, nah son, i dont think so. BUT, i’m open minded and hoping to be wrong. I hold Raimi’s Sm 1 and 2 very near and dear but I WANT someone to come along and dethrone him. If its just more of Homecoming’s flavor, I may just bow out as it may not be for me.

Breh, I remember ppl paying 300 dollars to meet Gal, but they couldnt shake her hand due to het pregnancy and whatnot, for that amount of money best believe I’m rubbing that belly.

Lawd.

It does have a conclusion. Remember the Snyder cut is not what Snyder originally planned for Justice League. The Snyder Cut is the page one rewrite he and Johns did. That combined both part 1 & 2 of his planned movie. That's what the Snyder Cut supposedly MOS lite. Meaning still serious and action packed but in a lighter manner like the first trailer we saw.

WB’s PR team sucks. I’m still baffled by their decision to announce Swamp Thing’s cancelation only 1 week after the premier.
