Okay, people is Doom Patrol REALLY that good?
Yes.

It's very peculiar tho, it totally goes for the weird and bizarre unapologetically, but without a tongue-in-cheek attitude, it's earnest and it's honest and the character drama is on point, relevant and relatable; it's very human while being both "out there" and very intimate, and every character is well rounded and given more and more substance with each episode.

I can easily see how this is not for everyone, tho, but I absolutely adore it.

I would never compare it to Daredevil or anything like that tho...it is its own thing; I think the closest comparison would be the latest season of Legends of Tomorrow on its embrace of the ridiculousness of it, but still, 2 very different flavors of weird.
Yes, I would give Diane Guerrero an Emmy
Also yes.

I fell madly in love with Diane Guerrero while watching Doom Patrol

She was given a huge task with Crazy Jane and she acted her ass off, it was really fun to watch.

Oh right, RT score revealed for Godzilla...

Not as negative as the 1998 one, it will survive.

Either I’m getting old or I’m really starting to grow indifferent about CGI monster destruction because I’m kind of whatever on this movie. Which is scary because this type of thing used to be right up my alley. I love me some big epic crazy action (see: Aquaman and Endgame) but this Godzilla movie seems like overkill to me and I cant put my finger on why.
It just means you have more recognition of better storytelling and enjoy it more than plain CGI spectacle. :yay:

But do you really go to a monster movie with 4 of the most iconic monsters to see Vera? 4 biggest monsters that is...

Well I am not going to see it because why would I pay for this but when it's on Netflix yes, the only reason I'll check it out is actors

I only care abut CGI creatures when they are adorable, like Paddington :D

1998 is dumb and fun, this is apparently the serious kind of dumb, ergo boring.

Like Snyder's stuff :lmao:

Obviously, with you and everyone who have certain demands for the things that they want to see, then Monsters and disaster movies really are not for them. Im not saying they can't be good, but it is also hard for them to be good, to be balanced between a good script and enough monsters.

For GA, sometimes, they just want to see a monster beat down.

let's give GA some credit -they wanna see interesting characters too, maybe fans of this particular thing will be happy with just monsters beat down but I'm guessing that's not big enough group to earn the budget back here

:highfive: It's why I keep it and enjoy watching it.

I wonder if the new movie is less boring than the 2014 one. The most memorable thing about that movie is Bryan Cranston doing a funny scream when his character's wife dies, and the 'Let them fight' meme.

Rick Flagg training..

His training needs more midnight chicken snacks.

It’s way, WAY better than LoT, though, imo. Like, I think it achieves the kind of wit and wackiness that LoT attempts so I get the comparison, but it’s in a whole other league in terms of quality.

Also:
1. The meme of Cranston's face with the writing "GODZILLA WE NEED TO COOK' and that frame of Godzilla partially obscured with the writing "*itch"
2. Honest trailer that highlighted the stares :lmao:

Okay, i think you gave me a much better expectation of it. People love Legends of Tomorrow but I cannot stand that campy nonsense. Stuff like Daredevil’s more my speed, personally, just good narrative intense drama. I’ll give DP another chance but im feeling like its not my kins of show.

I want to ride a chocobo.
And I never liked Legends of Tomorrow either.

Doom Patrol’s greatest strength is its drama and characters. The quirky, weird stuff is a bonus.

At this point, I'm not entirely sure what people were expecting from a Godzilla movie ? It's not a coffee morning with scones and a polite 'how do you do ?'
