Covid-19 making its presence known in the Pittsburgh area. All parades cancelled. All college schooling cancelled indefinitely. All surrounding grade/high schools cancelled indefinitely. Another close county closed down until mid April.

This **** is real. It's damn real.

Land of the over a $4,000 dollar bill to just get tested for this virus.
No universal healthcare.
MOST work jobs won't close and won't pay their employees for that time, without using sick days/vacation time. Hell, how many folks who have symptoms of this virus are still going to work? How many of us have gone to work sick before?

Only 11,000 or so tested thus far, while other countries test that much in a day.

Unfortunately with that combination of factors and combined with conspiracy theories, the real numbers could go through the roof.

Marvel's 'Shang-Chi' Temporarily Suspends Production as Director Self-Isolates (Exclusive)

As many of you know, Destin, our director, has a new born baby. He wanted to exercise additional caution given the current environment and decided to get tested for Covid-19 today. He is currently self-isolating under the recommendation of his doctor. While he waits for the results of the test, we are suspending 1st unit production in an abundance of caution until he gets the results this coming week. Pornhub handing out free premium subs to help Italy fight coronavirus

The coronavirus has hit Italy so hard the government announced a nationwide quarantine — and Pornhub wants to keep citizens from leaving their houses… by giving them premium subscriptions, entirely free of charge.

The adult content company announced Italian users can claim premium subscriptions without entering any of their credit card details throughout March. Pornhub is also donating a percentage all of its proceeds from Modelhub — a subsidiary that helps creators sell content — to local hospitals.

my son's school district is closing for a month now.
and my HR is trying to figure out the wfh policy, since they don't seem to really have one.

i was trying to negotiate with my boss on wfh or different hourly shifts, but he has no authority to approve of any of that.
so i'm waiting for HR to come up with a plan now.

i think many people are on the same boat.

as soon as i got word that they were shutting down schools, i went to my local safeway's to buy some canned foods and some water. not a lot, but somes.

it wasn't as bad as i expected, but there were some crazy long lines at some of the checkout lines.

It was explained why Flash's suit looked like it did in the movie, it was a prototype suit he built using stolen spare materials from NASA.

But we had endless complaints even though it was made clear that in his own movie Flash will have different and better suit, but since it's Matt Reeves' The Batman, people are suddenly welcoming the new proto-type suit and calling it as refreshing change, even though it looks ugly.

I don't think the suit looks ugly at all, but I also don't see the problem with having more faith in certain filmmakers' creative choices than others, considering track records.
