Lounge of Justice - Part 90

That was my first thought too, though I like how the Earth One books gave Hal and more gruff look to reflect on the fact that he spends too much time in space. In the main DCU it's kind of weird that he's never on Earth and yet he's always clean shaven and his hair is always on point. lol
He has a ring he can will to groom himself, unless the Guardians of the Universe are sticklers to the "Never use the ring for personal gain" even to that degree.

Charlies Angels bombs with 8M at the b.o. and men get the blame.

If more men showed up than women it would have score, 10M?

RT at 60% is fine not so hot with a B CScore.

Joker at 69% with a B+ and R rating made a billion, similar budgets, funny how b.o. works

I'm a dude whose seen neither film, and I don't regret it.

The irony is female audiences didn't show up for this either. Hollywood always feels the need to have their cake and eat it too, that's why these people never like to own up to their failures. They seem to think that as long as any movie features any type of "diversity", then people should somehow feel obligated to go see it, because if they don't they must be "part of the problem". Just so Hollywood elites can keep patting themselves on the back irregardless of the quality they happen to produce.

Ayee, Green Lantern was my probably my favorite amongst the EO line. I definitely pick this up.

Nicolas Cage, as Nicolas Cage, in Nicolas Cage: The Movie

Just a couple of weeks ago, Ocbtober 29 marked the 20th anniversary of the release of Being John Malkovich (Certified Fresh at 93%), a movie that was “meta” before that word was even in common parlance. Given how well it was received, it’s a little surprising more films like it (Jean-Claude Van Damme’s JCVD, for example) haven’t been made, but we may finally get the mother of all meta films in the near future. After a surprisingly active auction, Lionsgate has won the rights to a “meta drama” called The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, about a famous Hollywood actor named Nicolas Cage. Lionsgate is now in talks with a famous Hollywood actor named Nicolas Cage to take on the role, who is described as being the star of Face/Off, Con Air, Mandy, Color Out of Space, and the upcoming Lionsgate “meta drama” The Unberable Weight of Massive Talent. Specifically, Cage will play a version of himself who is trying to get a role in Quentin Tarantino’s next film and who “also occasionally talks to an egotistical 1990s version of himself who rides him for making too many crappy movies and for not being a star anymore.” It is not yet known if Quentin Tarantino will cast Nicolas Cage in his next movie. Nicolas Cage will also reprise his caveman role in The Croods 2 (12/23/2020), and might return as the voice of Spider-Man Noir in Spider-Verse 2 (4/8/2022).

It's also just... people are uninterested in general. It's more the fact that modern audiences are less interested in modern adaptations of 80's TV shows and less the sexism thing. If that were the case, the Charlie's Angels movies from the early 2000's wouldn't have been as popular as they were back then.

Or it just might be they have a poor cast and nobody cares to see them.

The 80s nostalgia revival has been kind of overstated as well. A lot of attempts at reviving these 70s and 80s IPs as big budget movies have met similar fates; just see all the semi-recent attempts at trying to make a new Terminator.

It's also why I'm not expecting much of a performance from the new Ghostbusters or Top Gun, either.

lol i think the only sequel to an 80s movie i cared about is BR2049.

if they made a sequel to beetlejuice with winona ryder's lydia as an adult now that would be cool.
keeping on the tim burton train, would also be awesome if they made a sequel to batman 89 and have keaton come back as old bruce wayne in a batman beyond-esque movie.
but set in that peculiar burton continuity.

Really tired of nostalgia, lets see something new.
Speaking about Batman Beyond, we've had lots of CBMs set in the past, I want more like Logan where they show the a possible future.
Give us the Legion of Superheroes, OMAC or Kamandi

Hi guys! How's everyone? Just visiting due to the lovely Snyder Cut trending occasion.

@Aurakles Hello there, buddy! :yay: How's life?

Hello Consona, glad to see you, was worried you'd gotten banned for life for being a little too... exuberant.

I'm doing pretty well, been on a couple holidays, rewatched MOS and BVS a few times.

How're you these days?

^ those would be cool.

i feel that keaton's bruce wayne would make sense for a batman beyond movie.
he's closer to the right age for it now.

and whereas bale's bruce wanted his batman to be a finite mission with an endgoal, keaton's always seemed like someone who wanted to keep his vigilantism going in one form or another.

Both fine actors, but I think I'd prefer someone new, so that it isn't tied down to any particular backstory, give it free reign rather than have it be tied down to another version.

I love the Hulk, but that 90s cartoon is more cringe inducing than well made. Some episodes are very fast paced, too fast paced, and the voice acting is pretty blah. Most comic book cartoons in the 90s are rather lame, and I do include the 1987 Teenage Mutant Ninja Hero Turtles in that definition.

The only good animated comic book show from that decade I can think of that is not from Bruce Timm's DC shows is Adventures of TinTin. but there are things I don't like about that show, like how they cut some funny moments from the comics. I won't discredit the show's quality based on my personal opinion cause the show is good as it is with each story split in two episodes.

The 1994 Spider-Man cartoon is decent. The X-Men cartoon has some nice episodes with some lame voice acting. And Spider-Man Unlimited is surprisingly better than I remember.

I don't know about Phantom 2040, it might be better than I remember.

Your avatar is a sequel to an 80s movie. ;)

Glad to hear that!

Man, I've been through heaven and hell (mostly hell :funny:). Ended up in the mental asylum. The place was so depressing that during the admission I put on the happy face (quite naturally since the whole situation was so funny and silly - like those people passing around me there, fricking lunnies, saying really deranged and weird things, some were even locked in cages!), and I said the concerns of the doctor who sent me were highly exaggerated, so I could sign the discharge papers and get the f out of there. :funny:

It was kinda scary. They can of course keep you there against your will if the doctor thinks you are dangerous for others or yourself. I was examined in the ward that was all locked, it felt like I was in one of those asylum horror movies. What an experience. But all the doctoresses involved were fabulous, had a really nice chat with them. Now I'm on some various pills that make me sleep all day and night long, the doctress I now have is a nice person. I even asked her about DMT but she told me the law prevents her to talk to me about things like that. :funny: Said I should contact our national institute from these things.

It's fricking weird watching Joker and seeing yourself in the character. You're like...

:funny:

Of course I would never hurt anybody, but otherwise... Honestly I was pretty shocked when the doctor said she pities me and that I should prepare myself for having a rather complicated and unpleasant life. Me, literally: :wow:

So now officially both my physical and mental health suck. :funny: Otherwise, everything's quite normal. No job, I'm loitering around, tweeting release the snyder cut, reading some books. The usual no future stuff.

I'm really glad to see you and some other guys here. :yay:
