Lol an animated Jokerverse and build up to the Bat verse vs joker verse would be amazing

"Hal Jordan and John Stewart must team up to save the last Green Lantern Guardian from an evil force!

Manhunters, alien races, rings of power--it's a lot for the people of Earth to absorb. Especially when an interplanetary incident forces their protector, Hal Jordan, to leave on a rescue mission that results in the discovery that there's a new player in the galaxy: Yellow Lanterns!

While they seem a benign force for peace, Jordan can't get comfortable with how much power they wield, or their bizarre, lockstep behavior. When fellow Earthling John Stewart ends up with a yellow ring, he and Hal must work together to confront the being who destroyed the original Green Lantern Corps--the last surviving Guardian.

Corinna Bechko and Gabriel Hardman feature two of the most famous DC characters, Hal Jordan and John Stewart, like you've never seen them before!"

I wonder where Batman: Earth One vol 3 is? They released some sketches for it, and said it was coming out soon, but that was about 2 years ago. :hehe:

Look at it this way and take this into consideration. The Batman Earth One team is the same team that's been doing Doomsday Clock (a 12 issue series) for 2 years now.

About to go watch the irishman.

Eh, I just couldn't wait for netflix to release it. Almost 4hrs, sweet lawd.

Might be unpopular opinion to those who have served in the military etc, but all them world war flicks just seem like propaganda to me. I never thought they would remake Pearl Harbor type of bad and cliche again, but here we are with MIDWAY. lawd.

Not to get too political and whatnot, but there are plenty of ''heroes who fought for our freedom'' on our side who truly did awful things shielded behind the flag and the excuse of war. But tis is Merica'...Love it or leave it type of thing that gets us nowhere and we still walk around news of school shootings like we getting coffee, just another day in the life.

Considering it was Roland Emmerich, I didn’t go into Midway with high expectations, but I expected something along the lines of Pearl Harbor, stuff blowing up real good mixed with corny human drama.

Nope, Midway was worse. Emmerich yet again reaffirms what a hack he is, yet continues to have his relentless mediocrity rewarded with big budget directing gigs.

In a lot of ways I think it's tough to do one because by design a war flick is gonna have something that makes a certain segment of the audience think it's cool, even if it's unintentional. The author who wrote the autobiographical book Das Boot is based on apparently hates the film because he thinks it glorifies WW2 too much, even though it's one of the few mainstream movies I've seen that really tries to hammer home how stupid and pointless war actually is (especially with the ending).

That’s a weird opinion. Das Boot doesn’t glorify war at all, IMO. They survive this whole harrowing adventure and then randomly get bombed at their return celebration.

At least I finally got to see Frank Castle as a Green Lantern.

That was my first thought too, though I like how the Earth One books gave Hal a more gruff look to reflect on the fact that he spends too much time in space. In the main DCU it's kind of weird that he's never on Earth and yet he's always clean shaven and his hair is always on point. lol

I’m telling you, this book really felt like what the movies should be doing. You know how a lot of Spider-Man adaptions be it cartoons, videogames, and movies, tend to borrow a lot from the Ultimates? I really think future Green Lantern adaptions(including that upcoming GL show) should take inspiration from these books. Especially if you’re doing a GL movie since I think these Earth One books are cinematic and provide a perfect blue print on how to reboot Green Lantern on the big screen.

Well said, it definitely has a more cinematic sci-fi approach rather than the space opera saga the franchise usually tends to be presented as. The more gritty tone, Hal being an astronaut on a space mining colony rather than a test pilot on Earth, him stumbling upon his ring from Abin Sur's corpse rather than being deemed as a worthy successor by a dying Abin, the power rings not choosing their carriers, but basically being weapons that anyone could choose to abuse their power if they wanted, no Green Lantern oath, etc. As far as alternate modern retelling of the classic origin, that's about as accessible as it gets and especially for outside media adaptations.

Eh, I don't think it merit a full review, but I did see that JLO stripper movie some time back. She absolutely goes for it in the dance pole scenes. Sweet lawd. A solid 7. But the best bits are easily found on reddit. I cant believe she is 50.
