Lounge of Justice - Part 90

Happy New Year to my Hype Fam. I’m coming up on 31 in a couple months and been with you fools officially since I was 16.

Huh. This will be the first year in like a decade that none of my most anticipated movies are CBM’s. Not particularly interested in anything there. I’m sure I’ll watch them all, though.

7 comic book movies (as of now) and no interest in any of them?

EDIT: 8 if you include ZSJL but I know you're not interested in that.

Nope. Dune and No Time to Die have my blockbuster hype this year (maybe Matrix 4, too). Those 2 + Tenet and WW84 had all my 2020 hype, before 2020’s slate moved to this year, so those are the only 2 left on that slate that I’m hyped for. Otherwise, on the CBM front, I’m all about 2022. Bring on The Batman, Thor: Love and Thunder and Captain Marvel 2.

I guess the superhero tv shows have more of my interest this year - I’m looking forward to the Disney+ Marvel shows and Superman & Lois more than any of these 2021 CBM’s.

Shang-Chi has my attention because I'm still floored they got Tony Leung for a Hollywood superhero movie. And I'm hyped for Suicide Squad. Other than that I'm interested but it's hard for me to get too excited without any actual trailer in front of me.

TV stuff looking good with FATWS and Loki though.

I’m excited for Zack Snyder’s Justice League, The Suicide Squad and Spider-Man 3. I’m not interested in any of the Disney + MCU Stuff or any of the other MCU CBMs.

I’m more hyped for Superman and Lois than any of the movies though.

Today I learned that Chris Stuckmann is a top critic on RT. How? Someone like Mark Kermode should qualify as a top critic. Somebody who actually knows film history and theory. Chris Stuckmann puts out the most basic movie reviews. Better than someone like Jeremy Janhs but not by much.

Thought you were talking about the Cinema Sins guy and then I realized I was getting them confused.

Chris Stuckmann always sounds like he’s bored lol

That... could spell trouble. She might exhaust herself if she isn't careful.

After admitting that she felt rushed to have to make a movie in about a year and a half, announcing that she's now working on three at the same time isn't really good communication imo...
Pretty sure she'll drop one of those. My money is either on dropping the director's chair on WW3 (but remaining in the writing room) or simply cancelling Cleopatra.

And I'm basing my thinking on absolutely ...

Cleopatra seems the most likely one to fall by the wayside...especially after the recent tea (which I suspected was tough negotiations) WB probably made her a really lucrative offer for another WW.

He has even admitted that he's become tired of reviewing movies but it pays the bills.

Guess I can’t blame him if that’s how he earns is wages :funny:

Hes definitely lost his joy for it. I watched an old review from a couple of years ago and he was so much happier.

You’d think he’d try to find a way to revamp and refresh. Maybe try something different with his content.

He’a trying to become a filmmaker himself. I think thats where his heart’s at now but at the same time his is like the #1 film reviewer on Youtube and probably makes a very nice living off of talking about films so he cant really give that up yet.

No but he could mix in some new content or change the way he does certain things to spice it up.
