Lounge of Justice - Part 90

I thought Grounded was quite good. The stories where Superman is experiencing life on the street level are some of the most satisfying.
I agree. I love that even though he has all these fantastic powers, in his core Superman is a man of the people. I loved it when he fixed houses damaged in one of his scuffles and he's stumped by all the items with sentimental values he couldn't repair as properly well, which makes me think in turn of an Avengers story from the 80s where Captain America cries seeing torn pictures of his mother's picture torn by Helmut Zemo.

Thanks. And you know what, I had some suspicion it was the JMS story. I do remember the scene where Clark talks to Barry about his perception of time/people when he moves at superspeed.
I have never read the whole thing myself. Always heard mixed things about it, but I do want to sit down and read it all at some point because I generally like JMS.

I remember not loving it. Maybe that's why I forgot it. I recall it being a bit pretentious. It might read better in a single volume.

The Chicago story was the best one...Superman stopping the father from beating the mother and kid and then telling the kid to call him every day to check in.

About Steven Spielberg's DC movie (Blackhawks)

I suppose WB Execs are waiting for the merger with Discovery (that will happen in a month) before accepting/ rejecting the project.

It's worth the read. Enjoy it when you do.

It's a story about Superman rediscovering his relationship with the people after the events with New Krypton, I guess it's normal for it to feel somewhat pretentious. But it's worth a read, has a good amount of good moments.

A lot of things by JMS come off as pretentious...cause well he is ;) Like how sometimes Grant Morrison comics feel like he has lost the script...mushrooms do that ;)

AT&T, Discovery Prepare for Mid-April Close of WarnerMedia Deal - Variety

“Discovery chief David Zaslav will become president and CEO of WBD upon deal close. WarnerMedia CEO Jason Kilar is expected to exit. Among leadership that Zaslav needs to find post-merger is a new leader for CNN, following the ousting of Jeff Zucker after a company investigation found he hadn’t disclosed a consensual relationship with now-exited CNN marketing chief Allison Gollust.”

Jason Kliar was one of the main reasons the Snyder Cut even happened. Without him, the thing never happens. I point this out because I see there’s a contingent of fans who are somehow of the belief David Zaslav is going to restore the Snyder-verse when this says otherwise:

No way in hell the same dude is going to give half a billion dollars to the same guy who’s Justice League movie gotten beaten out in Mortal Kombat and WW84 in its opening weekend.

Wasn't there a JL analogue comics series he was writing but never finished with Gary Frank? Or was that Mark Waid? I remember buying it as collected volumes, but there was no ending, like the story just stopped. Now I think I'm confusing which story this was. Maybe it was Irredeemable, but I think that was Mark Waid.

Can’t wait for the merger to be done and people praise a guy they know nothing about for being such a great businessman. And then, a year from now, when he doesn’t do what they want, we find out what a poor businessman and horrible person he is.

a vicious, yet predictable cycle!

Like when everyone fancasts a director or writer for a film because they are new and fresh and "love the character" only to have them make an awful film and get criticized for being "too new" and "too beholden to the past"?

Fandom is weird...nothing better than sports fans who scream and yell to sign a player or trade for one, they do, and then when they suck blame the the same people for making a dumb trade!

God, this decade has been an absolute S***SHOW, hasnt it guys? WTF is going on? Its like end times.

Anyway times like this where I appreciate you guys and can escape reality because reality reality is a real bummer these days.

At the very least it seems extremely unlikely we'll be seeing the lavish budgets the early DCEU projects were getting.

This doesn't sound like a $250 million+ kinda guy.
