Lounge of Justice - Part 90

I liked Dune, but then I'm a big David Lynch fan. It's strange that his sci-fi film about space empires, giant worms and killing words is actually one of the least weird films he's made.

I also miss Consona.

I will never tire of reminding people that these two villains said the same thing. :D

Just kidding, come back CONSONA!!!!! it’s not nearly as interesting around here without you
Speaking of missing members, anyone seen BH/HHH post recently?

That's like a wink to tell WB to make a low budget Lois Lane story =P

But seriously I still can't believe they're dumping her, she's probably the biggest female name/brand/prestige of the whole DC right now.
Yeah, there's no reason why a Lois Lane movie with a cameo from Clark Kent won't work. Give her $40 mil and let her be Producer, Amy Adams is enough of Lois Lane (and DC ) fan to get things done, if she's given the chance.

Eh, I'm going to pass on that Lois Lane solo, chief. I would be onboard an Amy Adams lead in a Scorsese flick tho.

it's a fascinating experiment.
breh ain't bout the mainstream sensibilities.
i can respect that.

they use to show it on our local television channel in the late 80s, divided into 2 parts for 2 days since it was so long. lol
my bro, my cousin and i would randomly quote from the movie, not understanding what it all meant cuz we were just kids, just that we found it hilarious.

"the spiiiice....the spiiiice!"
I think it's more than just experimental - a lot of the "mess" comes from some obvious clashing with the studio going on, but really I only find it messy because it's so blatantly and clumsily rushing through the story. The visuals, music and overall vibe are awesome, imo.

Boooo. I'm surprised. Usually when snippets get posted on YT from TV episodes that have already aired, they don't take issue with it. But I guess they don't want it out there yet (get those soundtrack sales!), so I won't post it again. BUT if you search YT for Watchmen and Reznor, it's still pretty easy to find.

I remember him saying that some argument had put him off and he was going to leave.

Before expanding to see the rest of my post I thought you were talking about the interrogation scene from TDK.

I can't blame our friend for that decision.

I can. She's a great actress but it's becoming increasingly clear they want a clean slate with the Superman stuff if and when they eventually get to it.

I honestly don't expect anyone from the MOS cast to be brought back for a new movie unless it's a JK Simmons in Far From Home kinda dealie.

This was great I never tire of Adam West Batman although it almost killed Batman comic franchise.

if anything adam west kept batman alive.
the comic books were in danger of getting cancelled at the time but the show proved so popular that the comics stayed around.
it was a different time back then.

its only when batman starting getting more "serious" in the 70s under writers like denny o'neil, that fans started crappin on west's batman.

Yeah. There's a lot of historical revisionism with West's Batman. It was a huge deal at the time and despite what the writers in the comics insisted, the goofy content and ridiculous tone was not all that dissimilar from a lot of the Batman stories published in the 50s and 60s.

Actually it was a mix of both. When the West shpow came around parents were upset that the comics they were buying their kids wasn't like the TV show and wanted it to be even more family friendly (the comics that is) which turned off the regular Batman fans who brought the comics. So when the show went away and the fans of the show left the comics behind it was hard for DC to bring back the old fans until o'neil came along and even that almost didn't save the comics because they were ready to cancel Batman after COIE. Really it was both O'Neil and Miller that saved Batman.

either way, i feel west's contribution to batman in pop culture can't be denied.
lot of it having to do with the deft skill he portrayed batman & bruce wayne.
not an easy job!

imo, his batman is just as valid as the "serious" portrayals of batman.
i dig both.
i like the dark, serious batman a bit more but west is always fun to watch.
