Lounge of Justice - Part 90

The franchise is done. There've just been too many bad sequels at this point, even if Dark Fate was actually pretty decent in its own right.

Like Alien and Predator, they just need to let it die with some semblance of dignity.

Let it die and revive it again later down the line when the demand and good story is there for it.

Ayer seems to be starting to break his silence on what went down with Suicide Squad.

He really fell on his sword in the past, but I think the recent resurgence of people dumping on him after the announcement of Gunn's movie may have been the straw that broke the camel's back.

Ayer’s going full Zack Snyder now. He seems to be becoming increasingly bitter about how SS went down and wants people to see what he originally conceived.

Joker was set in 1981 and in a few years the events of terminator would have happened, they could just put him in one final terminator movie taking place soon after 1984 and it'll make a billion, afterall Phoenix and Philips talked about having him in 10 other movies =P

Interviewer:
"Robert Pattison is The Batman.."

Momoa: "Stoked for all of that. He's a great guy, great actor. I'm behind that".

Interviewer: "It would be cool to get all (Momoa, Zoey, Pattison) all in one movie..

Momoa: "That would be very cool, but I don't think it's heading that way.."

Interviewer: "Why not.."

Momoa: "Lets just let them do their thing and let us do our thing".

I feel for Ayer that he wasn’t able to show people his true film, but I place him in the same boat as snyder when I say that the original product probably wasn’t good to begin with

crappy situation regardless

I honestly don't know why Aquaman and Catwoman would be meeting anyway. Unless it's for an Atlantis heist.

Alrighty I know many of you have already seen The Lighthouse and I had to wait for a day where I had time to drive 4 cities west just to find a theater showing it!

Hot take: the performances are better than the movie itself. A lot like Joker for me with some great acting but story-wise, just sort of, good.

Bringing this back to the Batman though, retractable lenses on the batsuit would be cool but after seeing Lighthouse, can't wait to see Pattinson's cold eyes peering through that cowl...

Ayer never should've taken full blame for SS

Yeah. It's clear he made some very questionable choices (even he eventually admitted that the Joker's redesign was a bit too much and that Enchantress was a bad choice for the villain), but it seems to be fairly well understood what was released wasn't his original plan and that it suffered from a lot of studio interference.

The real interesting thing is that this is a turn around from his initial behavior, when he said he took full responsibility for the film's shortcomings and that what was onscreen was his vision. It's clear that was just PR spin and he was likely being diplomatic since he was still attached to write and direct Gotham Sirens for WB at the time. But now I'm guessing if Birds of Prey is well received, WB will just approach Cathy Yan and Christina Hodson (if they haven't already) to do Sirens as well.

In all honesty I would've loved to see a Deadshot movie lead by Will Smith then the Harley movie we're getting. Hell I'm still mad he's not coming back for SS2

Alien and Predator concepts as a whole are very ludicrous when you think about them, no matter how great Alien, Aliens, and Predator are.

Terminator was meant to end with T2, none of the sequels needed to happen even if they were good.

At this point I've just given up on The Flash actually happening, lol.

WB have killed DCEU, by taking away Batman (by giving full autonomy to Matt Reeves to create a separate Bat franchise), not going anywhere with Superman (and at the same time giving a go ahead to CW's Superman and Lois show), making a stand-alone JOKER movie, taking away Green Lantern from DCEU and giving it to HBO Max, and now again delaying the Flash.

Way to undermine your own franchise instead of making course corrections and building on it.

Only people actually taking some interest in keeping (in whatever shape and form) this franchise going are Jason Momoa, Zachary Levi, Margot Robbie, Gal, Ezra and Rock.

I doubt WB shares their optimism. All they seemed to be looking at is Matt Reeves and Greg Berlanti.

Muschietti leaving is an inevitability so Flash is getting delayed no matter what

Listen maybe this means that they’re gonna throw all their weight behind the streaming DC shows

Hopefully there is a rock solid plan in place this time around

Welp, all non Bat DC characters coming soon to HBO Max or CW, thanks to WB and Berlanti.

Meanwhile Matt Reeves will make his own Batverse on big screen.
