Lounge of Justice - Part 90

Just saw the Red Son trailer and wow the premise looks awesome.

I hope they find a way to do a Red Son and a Bombshell movie some day, maybe even with the same current cast

And just to add, like I feared, this trilogy in no way justifies its reason for existing. It in no way adds to or expands on what came before (there will not be movies and comics and stuff wanting to play in the sandbox that is the Disney SW trilogy time period like there is with the OT and PT) while at the same time worsening what came before.

Smh

oh and another thing!

There's a moment in TROS when someone says a name and a character who hears it changes his mind about something

Sounds familiar? :D

Seriously though, I'm almost scared to go see it on Saturday now. And I'm not even much of a SW nerd, but I was probably one of the few who did not hate Anakin. To hear that his entire arc was ruined is actually disappointing to me.

The thing is, it's a fun movie. I think you'll have fun with it. But if you sit there and think about how it plays out in the trilogy, it's a lot of random stuff, to connect to a lot of other random stuff, while trying to fix what TLJ broke....which is even more stuff.

It's just a bunch of....stuff.

I just read the spoilers lol, as a non SW fan (not really interested) I thought it’s a pretty cool story, but ya, it’s probably like Iron Man 3 Mandarin-moment where it was great first then upon reflection it’s like oh....that’s such a disservice lol

Btw my wife likes the Anakin prequels more, and my buddy liked the originals, they both hate this series lol.

And that Poe rumor was wrong I think

TLJ has taken my fear away. I can enjoy this on its own merits now. It's just all a lot less important to me than it would/should have been.

Rise of Skywalker was fine. Not sure why people think it dunked on TLJ somehow, it seemed fairly respectful. Rough in places, namely bits of the first act (and when Oscar Isaac tries to do exposition) which could be pacing and may play better on a second watch, but it does find its stride, and then becomes consistently entertaining. Little paint by numbers. Fairly satisfying conclusion, all things considered. Just enough nostalgia and some good old fashioned cheesy serial heart.

RT consensus

Despite its fur-midable cast, this Cats adaptation is a clawful mistake that will leave most viewers begging to be put out of their mew-sery

Hahaha puns

So finished Batman: Last Knight on Earth. This is pretty much for Batman what Doomsday Clock was for Superman.

So I've just known Jodie Comer made a surprising appearance in TROS. Can we get her to appear in the DCEU? Seeing as how a few of our Hype brethren are head over heels for her.

Only if he agrees to leave his buddy Mark Millar at home.

If nothing else Mark will talk it up as the greatest movie of all time on Twitter and then ask a few weeks later if DC's heroes have any more relevance on Twitter.

Vaughn seems to like the idea of making Superman rather than actually going through with it.

Because not many people want to deal with the fans.

No. He talks a big game about lots of comic book properties. His Thor was supposed to be epic but never got off the ground. He bailed on X-Men Last Stand at the last second and backed away from any First Class sequels. He talks about what he would do with Fantastic Four.

He criticized Superman Returns and other takes on Superman but when he supposedly met with WB March 2017 about Superman he couldn't do it because Mark Millar was busy at the time and Millar was the one with the story. Vaughn didn't have any story of his own, didn't have the confidence to plot one with anyone else.

Ending the year on a high! Something I worked on will play across country on your tv! Less than a 60 second spot, but still a win. Should play in the middle of next year.
Nice! What kind of thing is it?
