Lounge of Justice - Part 90

My comments were in response to Greenlite actually. Women of color have it harder in Hollywood though. That’s just a fact. Her having privilege just evens the playing field.

Hi, I don't think I brought up race in my post but I see you have some important matters to attend to, hope your gf is improving.

I was just trying to say I prefer Alicia for the role for what she has achieved (Oscar win) and her ability and interest in these type of films, I can see Zoe as Poison Ivy with her eyes, but we will see how the film turns out, I might be Zoe's cheerleader afterwards who knows lol

You didn’t. I just mentioned race as a counterpoint to the idea that Zoe had an easier time. My basic point being that it probably balanced things out in the end given the harder time people who look like her have in finding work. That was in response to something KalvinEllis mentioned.

Then I mentioned we should wait and see as an argument against Alicia deserving the role over Zoe, which I believe was something you mentioned.

I hope this clears things up since it seems like me being too lazy to quote has caused a lot of confusion lol. Wasn’t my intention to stir the pot, so much as just casually offer up a different perspective.

And thanks man, she’s doing better. But now I’m
sick haha.

I'm watching Aliens again, and I know it's considered to be a classic movie and all, but it raises questions:

  1. So the rock from the first film that harbors the facehugger eggs remained there for 57 years without them hatching. How long do these things stay in their eggs before hatching without proper nutrition? Why didn't they die? How do they breathe?
  2. Apparently, there is a queen. Where was she back then? Why are her eggs holding facehuggers? Why the instinct to kill? Why can't a xenomorph just go mommy and mourn the dead? Why can't they be friends?
  3. One family found the ship and the face of the father was hugged. Why did there happen to be more people getting facehugged? How does the procedure of removing that thing go? How come they brought more of these home? Why no "Danger, Biohazard Zone" warning signs around the alien ship?
  4. So children of the queen hunt for their siblings to be born, but what does the queen do in that duration? How do they hunt without being warned? How come not enough signs reached the company?
Maybe @Consona ,@flickchick85 ,@Flint Marko are right about this movie not being good. But at least I'm enjoying it.

I’ll have to watch it again to truly know how I feel about it but yeah I’ve always said it’s a significantly weaker movie than the first. And I was shocked to hear it’s about as well regarded.

Aliens is a good space marines action flick, but a bad Alien film. All those things Cameron did with the lore were stupid, IMO.

Yeah, Alien is better than Aliens. Though, I don't mind letting the latter play in the background when it's on TV. I do love the banter between the marines... :oldrazz:

Happy New Year. See you guys in a week when I awaken from a hangover.

Champagne for my real friends, real pain for my sham friends.

New year's eve was more than five months ago.

The lore has problems in its foundation to be honest, and they haven't been resolved.

Love this movie.

Something I've been thinking lately, which I'm sure has been discussed upon in the past.

DC has always been mutliversal, more so than Marvel. I hope they play into this aspect, seeing a reboot for Batman and likely for Superman. Can't have two of your greatest heroes not connected at some point with today's expectations.

I really like it, but loved watching it more last time I saw it. I thought it was better than the first movie then, but now I see more of its flaws surfaced up.
And I have huge respect for it as a significant inspiration for the story of Resident Evil 2.

One of the problems I focused on in this one is how inconsistent they are with the Xenomorph's acid blood, sometimes it burns really deep to the ground, but the moment of gattling guns show them turn to steam instead of releasing metal dissolving acid.

That's a good suggestion. Let it happen please.

Shocking no one, Batman, Spider-Man and Superman are still the merch kings are far as solo heroes are concerned
With Superman though it has to be the T-Shirt logos
