Locke & Key has great visuals and performances, but the story could have used more terror and less whimsy.

This is what concerned me about the trailer, that it will skew younger than the books were, which were creepier, more all ages horror that doesn't coddle to a younger audience, very much a Stephen King vibe. I was looking forward to an adaptation when it was talked about a handful of years back.
