Lounge of Justice - Part 90

just got back from my costco run.

it was not as bad as i expected.
paper towels and napkins were out of stock - but some toilet paper was still available.
almost every customer just put one pack in their cart - did not see anyone stockpile stuff really.

i got one pack of tp, a pack of anti-bacterial wipes, a bag of mini-croissants, eggs and canned tuna.

not will smith i am legend levels preparation, but this should do for now.

any sanitizers there? Can't buy it anywhere here now. plenty of toilet paper though, we could do a swap, apparently @Iceman country is out of paper.

we're gonna stock pile for 2 wks of essentials/food but by buying a little more than usual every few days instead of doomstay buy in one go.

yup exactly, us too. I feel like its times like that serve as a reality check to us all that life is precious and we cant worry about the little things.
Yep. A good thing to remember at all times.

I’ve been saving tissues from my lunch meals so I’m good on that front. :cwink:

Happy to trade though.

the recommendation in TW is to be 1 metre apart from each other when talking, there are some pics online of people 5m apart waiting for buses lol.

a TW nutritionist who works in that hosp in Washington next to the resthome where 4 died posted on his FB - he wore his surgical mask and was shocked to see nobody in the hosp wearing it except cleaners, and he was told to take it off so people don't panic, think he's sick, or get dragged to be checked. His colleague said she came in contact with someone who died on the news. No need to isolate, will wear a mask if told by other doctors.

NZ has 5 cases now - a lady came back from Nothern Italy, felt mild symptoms, didn't bother to isolate, sent kids to school and partner to work, few days later AFTER our govt announced restriction on N Italy etc, she still flew to another town to work, for 5 hrs before been sent home, so took the flight back home, went to a medical centre, GP told her to take test in another general lab, she had a second visit and 2 days later confirmed with the virus. Med staff pissed that they found out via media instead of management/govt. Women's partner's sick and confirmed now, school's like everything's cool, health board's like "we're going beyond what's required for our safety, even though people criticize us for it" (I'm like f*** it's the other way round dude). Woman apparently got cyber bullied then went to the press to say she did all the right things.

Did I mention she caused 3 Air NZ crews to be in isolation for 2 weeks now?

A bunch of people still think it's just a flu - flu death rate =0.02-0.06% worldwide, Wuhan virus COVID19= 3.4%. #notmyflu

PS I hope people start not discriminating masks because a bunch of people want to wear it but can't. It's not just for self protection, like someone speak and spits into your lips? also if I'm sick the mask stops me from spitting everywhere or on your faces. Everybody do it will help the whole sceheme of things. Taiwan's crazy about masks and has 40 odd cases after 6 wks out of outbreak, compared that speed of spread to neighboring Japan, Korea, then Italy, USA, France, Germany...that's why I am scared for the westerners, these types can hurt you bad but westerners think it's just a flu and are told masks makes it worse.

This could be rather unpopular, but I finally saw Passengers and it wasn't nearly as bad as I expected. If anything I thought it was a good example of how social media vilifies something to the point where it made me avoid it for years. Thought it was fun for what it was. It's a rather rare thing for romantic flicks where the main characters aren't as clean cut or happen to make downright awful decisions. Though I was kind of surprised to learn that J Law got a bigger payday when the entire focus is on Pratt and she doesn't even appear until halfway through, but she is certainly the bigger name.

3 weeks!? We were told 2 if needing self-isolation, I do know there were cases of 24 and 42 days asymptomatic in China, has the USA taken a more strict stance?

and OMG, is that elderly from the ship that's making the news right now? Refused parking by a few countries now, wonder who is gonna take them in and help the passengers onboard, would strain the health system too

it's the company i am working at thats telling people to stay home for 3 weeks.
they are taking extra precautions - since so many employees here probably go to and from asia alot.

and yea its that ship.

it apparently let some passengers off because they were only doing a part of the cruise.
and no indication of anyone being infected by corona at the time.

then one of them got sick and passed away - and he was in my county.

and now a couple more of the remaining passengers on the ship have it now - and its being quarantined off the coast of california.

Saw Shazam again for the first time since release and the headless Superman at the end almost ruined the movie for me

I'm still in awe of what I saw today. It made me remember of the comments Chris Rock made some years back, it was about how if regular folks saw for their own eyes how GOOD the rich have it, the general public would do what them french folks did to them rich nobles and off with them heads.

Things change at WB all the time and maybe things are in motion behind the scenes. I go back and forth depending on the day because we've been burned so many times. I read Gabriel Gray's twitter comment and even saw your own. Let's hope.

Agreed. It's like a Ferris Wheel effect on me. All opinions and thoughts change daily and old ones come shooting straight back at the top lol.

Nope! I'm in the terrible two toddler stage at the moment. My little girl is a full time job ontop of a full time job :funny: I'd be lucky to watch 30 minutes of a 60 minute show right now. I'll catch up eventually.

totally get you.

i did not see any movies in the theater again until my kid turned 4!

that social divide is eventually gonna blow up in society's face some day.

trump ending up being pres is a symptom of this crap.
we're all just pawns for these fat cats. g**damn them all.
our political system, our social structure -- it feels like a giant pyramid scheme sometimes.

i saw 25 cases for the cruise a few hours ago, it's like a Ridley Scott Alien movie, the infection rate.

i think the virus is blocked off from China but now finding ways to flank the world from all over, like the dinosaurs from Jurassic world

My toddler was nuts at 3 and today a mother of 4 told me terrible two is fake news, it's three-ager, whatever they're like at 3 they'll be like that when they are a teen!

Maybe you'll get to see the next Superman film before you see Joker/BOP =P

I knew within the first 20 minutes of our pitch that he wasn't going to write us a check.

It was a nice scenic drive tho.

lol

For real, the "terrible two" stage is real but I'm petrified for the three's. Almost every person I know and then some have said "You think two's bad? Just wait for the three's". If I would have profited a dollar every time I've heard that, the Snyder Cut would have been funded ages ago and we'd be getting the "Ultimate Snyder Cut" right about now.

Wouldn't have it any other way though.:yay:

yea, three-agers!
it's because at 3, they're starting to get smarter about stuff but their emotions still aren't fully developed.
all those emotions they will experiencing for the first time.

so they'll be...having a meltdown...because of something like...their favorite colored crayon broke in half. lol.

it's gonna be greaaaaat.

Rewatching Trigun. If that Cowboy Bebop series is a hit, then I hope Trigun is on deck. The two could honestly share a universe. Reading about the manga though, I'd love to see something that hews a bit closer to that. Especially on two of the main antagonists and their backstories.

But gahdamn, the aesthetics of Trigun are just beautiful to me. It's like Mad Max with a glam rock edge. Andrew Garfield and Joseph Gilgun for Vash and Knives. Lawd.

And I guess when they turn into teenagers they get smarter bodies but the brains don’t quite catch up

You're bringing back memories of staying up to watch Adult Swim.
