my stock portfolio maybe bumped up somewhat while trump is president lol...buuuut, that just be a short-term gain.

the thing with him, i don't think he's a racist or what u traditionally would think of a racist per say.
but he's blatantly enabling and manipulating people's racism for his own political gains.
in some ways, that's even more vile, imo.
that's definition of a sociopath, there.

also now with the whole covid-19 being originated in china - not surprisingly there's going to be more xenophobic attacks.
but trump adds on the pile when he kept referring to it as the "chinese virus" - he just trying to deflect from how he had 2 months to prepare but didn't do jack.

might not seem like a big deal to refer to the virus as that but that just reinforces and conflates in people's minds the virus and a race of people.

i don't worry for myself so much, but i worry more for my family and asian friends. because you never know when u might come across some random nutjob that's been emboldened by trump's rhetoric.

my elderly parents told me they been only going to asian supermarkets for their groceries lately. not the regular american ones out of these fears.

yea, i mean it did come out of wuhan. so if people call it the wuhan virus its sorta whatever to me.

some folks have said it's not a big deal, but that's because they aren't going to be directly affected by it.

but i live in the usa, and there's been an increase in attacks on asian americans since this pandemic hit.

which is strange logic if you look at it objectively.

the equivalent would be if a disease originated out of paris, france and became a pandemic and then we start blaming all white people for it. it would not make any sense and it doesn't here.

but that is what's happening with asians here now.

so trump ain't helping, he's gleefully fanning the flames.

that's on top of having to worry about getting infected with covid19.
everyone's suffering now.

Watched Sonic yesterday and I really liked it.

But it's sort of an uneasy feeling and I don't like that I liked the movie.

I'm feeling vindictive. So I'll re-watch Detective Pikachu so I'm sure that DP>>Sonic. It f**king has to be! I desperately need to be convinced about DP's superiority!

I should clarify that I'm happy for Sonic's success.

But I stanned DP for over a year and it basically vanished into thin air after it's release. DP underachieved while Sonic won against all odds and I may have liked Sonic more than DP. All of this makes me kinda sad and resentful towards Sonic. I had such high hopes for DP to be a breakout

I was actually rooting for it from the very beginning.

I loved the first trailer (apart from the design of course, that was hideous). You can't go wrong with Gangsta's Paradise.

I guess you're right. A tournament or a mystery dungeon type of movie probably would have been a better choice. Oh well.

I actually wasnt a fan of Detective Pikachu. It was fine, competently made movie but Ryan Reynolds as Pikachu just did not work for me at all. I grew tired of his schtick a half hour into the movie. Reynolds is perfect for Deadpool but the Deadpool thing didn translate well into Pikachu. And yes before anyone says it, i get it that that was entirely the joke but it wasnt funny just annoying (to me)

I feel like they should have gone a more Who Framed Roger Rabbit route and have Pikachu voiced by a Bob Hoskins-like actor, someone who’d give pikachu a hard boiled grizzled detective voice. That would’ve been funny and fit the movie.

Yeah first one was great, it’s like the Hangover ended up been a huge hit so they did a sequel. Both of those films should have been a one and done.
