Lounge of Justice - Part 90

Fat Thor was a joke that went too far and Professor Hulk was the worst thing ever. Hulk should have gotten a badass redemptive moment where he kicked Thanos arse. Instead we got another bunch of jokes. Sure he did the snap with the gauntlet but meh that didn’t feel like the natural conclusion after IW imo. I feel like Captain Marvel got Hulks moment and she was shoe horned into that film.

90s Kurt Russell could have played Guile and Duke Nukem.

Eh Drax got it worse. His arc is pretty much to kill Thanos for what he did to his family.

He was nowhere near Thanos in the final battle if I recall correctly.

I think the final un-snap involving Tony Stark was a very good conclusion. I thought the moment would be corny as hell (what with 'I am Iron Man' dialogue) but I liked the scene a lot.

Drax getting his moment against Thanos in Endgame would mean nothing to most of the audience. I can tell that I would feel nothing if Drax happened and that's an underwhelming way to send off The Mad Titan, innit?? I'll stick with RDJ's snap. It was really very good.

We find out though in GOTG that he isn’t even powerful enough to defeat Roonan (or whatever he’s called).
Hulk got his arse handed to him in IW & his issues where he won’t come back out for Banner. Then we find out he did (off screen) & he never gets his redemption. That for me was the worst aspect of Endgame. Thankfully though my favourite character Cap got a superb ending so I wasn’t totally let down by end game & pleased with Cap’s arc.

I'm legit bummed we will never see Evans do his Deathstroke flick. No doubt he would've brought something different to the cbm genre. Gangs of London first episode leaked, and it is bloody insane when it comes to the action.

You know, I really chaffed against fat Thor in the first viewing but upon subsequent viewings, I noticed more nuances in Hemsworth's acting that showed how much Thor was hurting from everything that happened. I agree some of the jokes were just unnecessary. Although, I'm not gonna lie, whatever transgressions Fat Thor made were reconciled by Viking Thor in the final act. Man, Viking Thor with the dual wielding hammers was my kind of JAM, man. More of that, please.

I’m not against him being comedic, I loved Ragnarok. But I feel like Endgame just took it too far. It’s one of my issues with a lot of MCU films in that they don’t know when to stop with the jokes & get serious. Phase 1 they die but after a while it’s like the MCU films became caricaturea of what the movies were originally. One of the best examples I can think of is a little like in sitcoms when characters start out one way then by the end they’re unrecognisable to who they originally were e.g. Ross in Friends. Man I hope that made sense.

I got you and you are completely correct.

What I’ve noticed in a lot of the more recent MCU films is that there are these moments where the directors kind of just let the actors go off the cuff and ad-lib comedic bits off script. And sometimes they just let those moments go on too long. Like for example in Infinity War that moment where the Guardians rescue Thor and Chris Pratt does this bit where he’s mocking how Hemsworth speaks and its funny for 5 seconds but then it just keeps going and almost derails the gravity of the conversation they were having before it.

Watching The Last Dance and dying at this champ taking Jordan's money.

Thanks haha, it’s not I’d begrudge someone who disagrees with me cause we all feel as we do but that’s how it is for me for sure.

Yeah you’re spot there, it’s not as if the moments don’t work it’s that they go on to long and go too far.

I think this is a reason a lot of the MCU doesn’t stay with me after viewing. There’s only a few of the movies I ever feel like revisiting really (Iron Man, Captain America TFA & the Winter Soldier).

LOL people are going after James Mangold now for jokingly suggesting people watch something other than superhero movies.

Poor James shouldn't experience such scrutiny, he is a film director so it's natural for him to encourage people to watch some of the unfairly overlooked movies.

This Corenswet fella....he got one powerful Superman voice.

That's one of the main things I look for. He has a great look..a strong voice. If it's Cavill or Corenswet, I don't think there could be no wrong for Superman fans.

Now, I WANT Henry back as Supes. Badly. But if it isn't him, I'd be disappointed if it wasn't Corenswet to take over.
