Lounge of Justice - Part 90

This...

That girl kinda looks like the female 3 year old version of Matt Reeves lol

Cant imagine reeves is thrilled about any of it, but as long as he gets to tell his Batman story without interference, I’d imagine he’ll just put his head down and continue working
I mean, he might be, if there was previously a chance he'd be forced to play ball with an interconnected universe if he wanted to continue his trilogy. If this new approach means he's totally off the hook and is assured he can now do his own thing for as long as he wants...he might be considering this a blessing more than anybody.

I must admit that I would like to know Matt Reeves reaction to ALL of this or at least be a fly on the wall when he heard all of this. More Affleck in the Snyder Cut and now a very beloved nostalgic OG Batman coming back. Not to mention living up to Nolan's Batman/Joker, while also dealing with Joaquin's Joker in the shadows, cause WE all know the character of Joker is too good to pass up for Reeves.

I dunno...do you really think that they didn't share their plans for Batman in the larger DCEU before he signed on? They've wanted an older/alternate universe Batman in FLASHPOINT/mentor Batman for a while now. I doubt he was somehow unaware that what was heavily, heavily rumored was in fact true.

Eh, I don't know and we don't know to be honest. He signed on about 3-4 years ago? Considering how often the DC/WB changed plans, I don't know. I'm just curious to know his pov on all of this. On one hand it gives him freedom to just keep his Batman to his own universe etc.

Hillarie Dean Morgan, JDM's wife, responded with hearts on twitter when it was suggested that JDM was being considered for Flashpoint.

Keaton is Burton's Bruce.
JDM will still be Thomas Wayne me thinks.

Flash: Hey, do you kill? Because my Batman got in trouble for doing that from nerds.
KeatonBatman: Smiles. Oh, boy, you are in for a show tonight, son.

throw an elfman track over it, give us some of those sweet Neo Gotham visuals and it’s golden

no one will care that he’s a mass murderer, not a one

So, let's do a recap. In the past year, we were able to receive the following:

  • Brandon Routh reprised his role of Superman for "Crisis on Infinite Earths".
  • Kevin Conroy made his live action debut as "Bruce Wayne" for the same crossover.
  • Tom Welling and Erica Durance reprised their roles as well.
  • We also got to see a first in DC history where the movie and TV division had a crossover with each other with their respective Flashes.
  • We are getting a "Superman and Lois" TV Show on the CW, scheduled to premiere next year.
  • Not only was the "Snyder Cut" confirmed but it is now scheduled for release in 2021.
  • We are also getting a Spider-Man game centered around Miles Morales later this year.
  • Michael Keaton will now reprise his role of Batman for "Flashpoint".
If you had told anyone this 3 years ago the list above would be an reality then they would have said that you were "fake news".

So the fact that this is all really happening is a miracle unto itself. And it only came at the cost of the whole world nearly going to hell for all of this to have been accomplished.:o:dry::(

FLASHPOINT was their original concept for the Flash movie in the DCEU proper. It's clear they were developing Batman as a mentor figure, even dating back to Snyder's involvement.

So aside from Batman being played by Michael Keaton VS Ben Affleck, these plans seem very similar to what they'd pretty much always planned, even back then.

For all the parroting people do about them changing plans and throwing things against a wall until something sticks, aside from having to replace what we can assume was Ben Affleck's role in FLASHPOINT and more or less abandoning Snyder's five film arc, they don't appear to have changed their core plans for the larger DCEU after all.

You hit the nail on the head here. If I heard this 3 years ago I would’ve guessed it was someone, bored on 4chan/reddit, starting rumors to psych people out.

Now I’m just like: “did we ourselves cross over to a different timeline? Is the multi-verse real and we’re no longer on Earth One?”

2020 officially a year I’ll remember more than 2016 when killer clowns were all the rage.

Actually, I think that this evolution might be open to 2 divergent interpretations:

1) If confirmed, it might --- obviously --- mean that Keaton will become the "DCEU" Batman;

2) Au contraire, it might --- in the measure in which it seems that Pattinson is ruled out from the "DCEU" --- also represent the foundation upon which the return of "Batfleck" could be built: in fact, if Keaton were introduced as a mere "else-world meeting" occurred to Barry, and considering that WB would have --- at that point --- already "wasted" its narrative chance to insert Reeves & Pattinson in the "DCEU", the only remaining option would be Affleck, or some recasting of him.

Furthermore, it is reported that Keaton might "co-star" in "The Flash":

1) In case he appears for a cameo, it's more likely that he will have become the new "DCEU" Batman: as an appearance --- similarly to the structure of "Flash-point" itself --- at the end of Barry's journey, after the manipulation of his "Earth";

2) Instead, in case he co-stars, he might play the part of an alternative version of "Flashpoint Batman", as the main Barry's ally throughout his travel along other "Earths"; nevertheless, it would seem unlikely that, at that point, he might also be "the" Bruce waiting for Barry at the end of it.

Do you guys prefer live-action comic book movies or animated ones? I love animation, and think it’s great. What’s your preference?

The live action Aquaman was a huge improvement on Justice League Throne of Atlantis.

On the other hand, I can pick and choose any Superman animated movie and they're all better than MOS or BvS and I really like the latter two. There's also Lego Batman which is the best Batman movie of 2010s. So it can go wither way. But my first instinct is to go for the animated ones.
