Lounge of Justice - Part 90

I feel like overall The Batman FEELS like Netflix’s Daredevil and i mean that in the best way possible. It has that raw look and tone, even Pattinson’s Bruce has that angsty tortured Matt Murdock look and feel to him. To me, Daredevil is the single best thing Marvel has ever produced so if that is the vibe theyre going for I am 300% all in.

when netflix daredevil first came out and i began to watch it - i thought man, they need to do a batman movie like this.

and it looks like matt reeves has done it - so i am completely on board with his take right now.

and agreed, that charlie cox daredevil show is the best thing that marvel has done.
avenger - the whole thanos arc is great. but nothing beats what they did with daredevil there.

The only issue I had with Daredevil & even more so the other Netflix Marvel shows were they were incredibly boring. The lead characters were so uninteresting across the shows and for shows that had such a short episode count they really didn’t know how to pace stories. So while I get what you guys are saying I wouldn’t what it to be like those shows cause while Yes they we’re adult they were just so boring.

They tried a few Green Lantern films. They were both good, but I don't think either one sold the numbers they were hoping. The second one being out around the time of the live-action flick probably didn't help either.

That's most likely why they're mostly sticking to Batman, Superman and the Justice League. JSA is the deepest cut they've done in a while, and I'm guessing that only got greenlit because of the Stargirl show and the Black Adam movie.

Yea, pretty much. The money is not there, at least not from their perspective.

I do wish they would make another JLA TV series (Young Justice art style + YJ/JL story style - that would be freaking amazing).

Considering the popularity of YJ, I think people would love it.

i respectfully disagree because i found daredevil and luke cage to be engaging AF!

Daredevil was fantastic and the first season of Jessica Jones was great overall, but all of the Marvel Netflix shows suffered from having seasons that were just too long. So while every season had strong and exciting moments, there was also tons of filler that made some episodes a real slog to get through — even while binge watching. Some of those 13 episode seasons could have had just 10 episodes and been much better overall with things tightened up a bit.

I'm happy with the Batman suit and I feel it fits the aesthetic of the movie. Of course, I'd like to see that evolve over time. I'm still on the fence with Pattenson as a Batman. I would have rather seen him as a Nightwing, but I know he's a great actor so I am still very open to it. Also a lot of the intense fighting scenes are likely to be performed by a stunt double, so I'm not worried about the physicality of the fight scenes. I also have a lot of confidence in Matt Reeves and I love his previous work, so either way I'm pretty confident that I will love the movie.

That quick beat down in the trailer looks like it was all Battinson himself.

I have to admit that the suit looks good. I was wrong to judge it based on set pics.

Iron Fist was the one where it became gravely apparent to me that these shows did not need 13 episodes and a lot of it was just stalling for time until the finale.

It was by no means unique. It feels like a lot of writers are still having trouble adjusting to the heavily serialized format streaming has made popular.

oh also like what i'm seeing with colin farrell's version of the penguin so far.
looks to be a vicious thug and gangster, as he should be.

And completely unrecognizable. Kudos to the makeup team.

I feel like this should be one of the Ten Commandments in the superhero bible: never judge a costume on set pics.

Suits are designed for post and there's multiple versions made up on how it would look in certain scenerary and light fixtures. Judging a film and especially a suit by set pics is a rookie mistake.

Going to have to get a new TV soon, had my current one for years and it's fine, but I feel I should get something a bit more cinematic for ZSJL.
I am not well versed in this area, any tech savy people here have any recommendations?
I know a little about this stuff, happy to give a few recommendations if it helps. Feel free to DM anytime mate

Does anybody remember how everybody was scrutinizing the TDKR's Catwoman suit to hell and back based on the set pics of the big climactic battle? Good times.

My patient saw it in the weekend & loved it

It was a 8pm Saturday night showing in the big screen room, about a quarter full

We're in New Zealand

(not Auckland which is in semi-lockdown mode)

That is troubling for the finance side of things, if you only get 25% of the audience in NZ, but I guess they need any cash to maintain the cashflow now

I rarely get in rage mode. But I just really hate bicyclist. Not all of course, but the ones that ride their bikes in front and behind you like they are a goddamn vehicle. These mf' often wear that lame tour de france outfit.

Also, a new food truck opened up near me and the lady in charge has some pretty great knockers. Pam Anderson would've been jealous. Goddamn.
