What did he say?Cotdamn Boyega went off on the Mouse today. His agent must be sweating bullets right now.
What did he say?
What did he say?
"Everybody needs to leave my boy alone," the actor said. "He wasn’t even supposed to come back and try to save your ****. You get yourself involved in projects and you’re not necessarily going to like everything. [But] what I would say to Disney is do not bring out a Black character, market them to be much more important in the franchise than they are and then have them pushed to the side. It’s not good. I’ll say it straight up."
"Like, you guys knew what to do with Daisy Ridley, you knew what to do with Adam Driver," Boyega continued. "You knew what to do with these other people, but when it came to Kelly Marie Tran, when it came to John Boyega, you know f**k all. So what do you want me to say?"
"What they want you to say is, ‘I enjoyed being a part of it. It was a great experience.' I’ll take that deal when it’s a great experience," he openly admitted. "They gave all the nuance to Adam Driver, all the nuance to Daisy Ridley. Let’s be honest. Daisy knows this. Adam knows this. Everybody knows. I’m not exposing anything."

He spoke the truth. Daisy also kinda alluded to SW hurting more her career than helping her in the long run. lol
Its honestly kind of sad when you see how the SW IP has fallen from grace the way it has. Thank goodness for Mandalorian.
Empire Magazine released even more photos for Denis Villeneuve's Dune.

Man, the sheer scale of this film is already giving me chills.
The hype must flow!

Glad someone else said it. It's not the first time side characters have been just that. Especially in star wars. Not on Disney side here obviously but I don't think the main reason Finn didn't have a stormtrooper rebellion arc is because he is black.Eh Daisy and Adam Driver played the lead characters, it's no surprise they would be more prioritized. Rey was the protagonist, Kylo was the antagonist, naturally they would get the most focus, while Finn, Poe, Rose and co were the supporting players. No different than how Padme was a supporting player to Anakin or Han and Leia were supporting players to Luke.
That being said I get what he means about the false advertisement thing. The early posters and trailers for TFA always showed Finn holding the lightsaber, clearly wanting you to believe that he was going to be the jedi in the movie when of course he wasn't. That was lame and Disney deserves to be called out on it.
