Lounge of Justice - Part 90

Chloe was perhaps my favorite Smallville character and Allison always seemed like such a sweetheart. Those revelations disappointed me as a fan more than I could ever express. Keep her away from those students.

Can't wait.

Yes, let's allow the sex trafficking cult recruiter/ringleader the perfect avenue to connect with impressionable young people experiencing life away from home for the first time. What a swell idea!
Well, there was this video I saw the other day about this woman teaching children about polygamy, so nothing really surprises me any more.

I can't judge her. Everyone should have a chance at redemption. She admitted that she was wrong and is willing to accept her punishment. So I don't know what more we can ask of her. Not only that I still believe while what she did was wrong but that she was brainwashed just like all the other women.

Watching The Amazing Spider-Man and I still think it was the best Spider-Man movie and that the franchise could've been saved. Hell, I still think that this Spider-Man could've and would've been a better fit for the MCU instead of Iron Man Jr. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 wasn't that bad of a movie to panic the way they did and I'm still hoping to get an Amazing Spider-Man 2: The Mary Jane cut some day. But that's just me.

Mentally unwell or not - you can say that about convicted pedophiles too, but that doesn't mean they should be allowed anywhere near a school full of kids. She is a sex trafficker and master manipulator who took advantage of many young, vulnerable people and destroyed lives. The last thing she should be is anywhere near the ideal recruiting ground, with NXIVM very much still alive and kicking, and her "wife" leading the protests of the true believers. She and Raneire are both still powerful figures in that cult. Also, she hasn't even been sentenced yet, so she has yet to actually face that punishment. Let's talk about redemption when she's done something to earn it. She's got a long road to come back from before ANYBODY should believe she's "snapped out of it" and already reformed simply because she got caught. It's appalling that the school accepted her, imo, considering people are rejected from colleges all the time for a hell of a lot less than actually being known dangers to their student body. She belongs in prison or a mental heath hospital, not in college.

my favorite Japanese actor, Yuko Takeuchi, killed herself today at the age of 40. what a horrible, horrible year this has been. i am so gutted.

RIP.
40 is far too young.

it's just been bad news after another this year.
my wife is saying for some reason 2020 is a year of bad feng shui.

So tragic. What would be a good movie/series from her to start with? Also, perhaps I'm exaggerating on this, but it does seem like every few months or so I read about a Japanese actor/singer or Kpop actor/singer commit suicide. Now, I know nothing about them industries, but it does kinda seem like them actors are created ''in house'' as they say, kinda by committee. I have a friend who worked in the mexican soap opera industry, and she told me they basically have a school and a lot of the students there get promoted to being soap actors, I thought that was a bit bizarre.

Showed my girl two David Fincher flicks back to back.

The Girl with The Dragon Tattoo and Gone Girl. She was meh on TGWTDT, but loved Gone Girl. I hadn't gone back and rewatch Gone Girl since it came out, this is Fincher at his most funny and trashy way, felt like a DePalma movie in a lot of ways. Ben is so damn good in this, feel like this is his best performance thus far. Scary how much he reminded me of Scott Peterson. Rosamund Pike deserves to be in better movies after that performance, but perhaps due to her age, hollywood aged her out? I don't know. Tyler Perry was so damn smooth in this, man.

I really feel like Gone Girl was the David Fincher version of a rom-com. :hehe:

I too prefer Gone Girl, but TGWTDT is underrated, imo.

I guess my main problem with TGWTDT is the casting of Stellan Skarsgard. A great actor no doubt, but he just has one of them villain faces I suppose, a lot of the suspense goes out the window with him. You are not surprised when that twist or discovery of him happens, but are waiting of when it happens. I did laugh about Craig not even bother to try a swedish accent tho. Tis' also hilarious to me that Joel Kinnaman was only cast to look at Daniel Craig at the very beginning and to tell Wright's character that she has a phone call while still giving Daniel a bad look.

Perhaps this will make up for the inevitability garbage live action series they have planned

As least we're getting a lot of stuff for the RE 25th aniversarry. This, the live-action series, the new game. I won't be surprised if we hear about another remake too. Code Veronica is a hell of a game. ;)

she has done bunch of movies and series but the most accessible one is Miss Sherlock which is on HBO Max. she was great as Sherlock and i was waiting for them to make a second season but now it's imposible.

That's unpleasant to come across.

Sony scrapped the series in a state of panic after not only being disappointed by it earning less than the $1 Billion, it raked less than the movie that came before it.

Can't wait.

As nice as it is to see these two together again, I think the ugly movie that caused a lot of people to boycott and campaign for boycotting Netflix for sponsoring and releasing it will hit this series hard.

Thinking of game remakes though, there is the possibility they will skip Code Veronica and jump right into RE4 for remake.

You mean the Cuties controversy? Why would it affect this show.

I can totally see them skipping over CV for RE4. I just really hope they won't. :oldrazz:

Hard to imagine River would've been 50 this year. He should've still been here. Few stories have made me despise what Hollywood can do to young actors more than his. Congrats to Joaquin and Rooney.

What goes through the minds of "fans" who tweet this crap at directors?
