Heh, that’s been my laptop wallpaper for the last several months. Never even thought about getting a print of it for my actual wall before.

On a random note, I love the walkways in between buildings thing some artists like to include as a major characteristic of their depictions of Metropolis. Tim Sale did this in For All Seasons as well. Would love to see someone include that in their live-action aesthetic someday. Really adds to the “City of Tomorrow” feel, imo.

We have those walkways in Chicago. I’d use them a lot during winter or just to avoid all the foot traffic outside. Man I miss that.

Started watching Veronica Mars. I dig it so far. Anyone here watch that series and if so, is it worth sticking with and watching the movie?

First season takes a hot minute to get going, but once it does, it ends up being one of the most satisfying seasons of TV I’ve seen. S2 was solid but not quite as good. Another great ending, though. S3 was trash, due to mandates handed down as conditions to give it a spot on the new network (CW. It was UPN before that) The movie is pure fan service, but mostly pretty good fan service. S4 (which came out last year) is actually my favorite since S1, though the ending upset a lot of fans. Overall it’s a really good season though, and (appropriately) feels like a more mature show. The ups and downs of the whole show are worth it to me because Veronica herself has to be one of the best female characters ever put on TV. She’s very rich and complex, and her evolution and growth is SO interesting to watch, imo. And a couple of the supporting characters are also really wonderful.

Cool. Yeah im halfway through season one and it definitely is more procedural than serialized but Kristen Bell is infectious to watch. I honestly dont usually watch these type of network shows that have 22-23 episodes to plow through each season, I just usually dont have the time or the patience haha. I normally prefer the shorter, tighter, more serialized cable shows but this show is just...easy comfortable fun.

Sounds like its a bit of a bumpy road though from what your saying. But you’d still say its worth the investment overall?

I’d definitely say so, due to the characters being the strongest part and the emotional investment in them carrying you through. Plus, as I said, S4 was actually quite good. That one should be easiest for you to get through too, since it’s the only one that was designed for the binge era and actually feels like a current show, lol. And the fan service of the movie was understandable considering the fans literally funded it, but it was also very satisfying with all the callbacks and people they managed to bring back. Once you’re invested in the world of Neptune, I think you’ll appreciate it.

But yeah, Rob Thomas was doing the “high school noir” thing before Rian Johnson did with Brick, so despite the procedural nature, I found the early seasons engaging enough thanks to the main actors (KBell really was a revelation in that show) and that rather unique vibe/style. Best to think of the series as a coming-of-age saga, noir style. As Veronica grows up, so does the show...growing pains included, lol.

Ugh, got a notification from Chrome that some app I have may have been breached leaving almost 200 passwords unprotected. Had to change them all (or delete ones from sites I no longer use, which fortunately were a lot). So annoying.

Also, what's worse than a youtube video with a 15 second lead-in ad that you can't shortcut? TWO 15 second lead-in ads that you can't shortcut.

Actually had one of those the other day for a 25 second video. The ads were longer than the video itself. Madness.

Anyway, carry on.

Oof. Bond moving hit the industry even harder than some thought.

So rumors are De Haan and Dunst are back, I want Defoe the most (more than Tobey lol)

and we need the landlord asking Holland for rent, and his daughter who is a hot milf now hitting on Holland

The only concern you can have with this approach is if the previous Spider-Men have more presence or are more interesting than the current one. I much prefer Maguire and Garfield over Holland. Holland seems like a good guy, but his Spider-Man is pretty forgettable to me. Now you risk putting that in greater contrast, similar to Hoechlin next to Welling and Routh.

You gotta love YouTube. When they're not screwing over content creators with their vague guidelines, they're making ads longer than a video itself. :funny:
