Lounge of Justice - Part 90

The truth is we don’t know the exact reason Ben is over it all. Folks who don’t like Snyder’s work will say it’s the BvS reception. Folks who do like Snyder’s work will say it’s because of WB meddling with films.

The only thing we actually know is that he got burnt out by IP films. No real point in speculating on his inner most thoughts beyond that. None of us know him.

I think BvS’ reception was a bad blow but what sent Ben over the edge was Live By Night’s press tour where he was badgered constantly by journalists about The Batman and no one gave a damn about his passion project which subsequently failed critically and commercially. I think at that point he realized that this whole playing a superhero thing just isnt for him. Then of course the finishing blow was the JL shoot.

And he has the advantage of not needing them. He can walk into WB and make any film he chooses. He seems content now which is great.

He put a lot of pressure on himself with Batman cause he lived it so much.

I forgot about that! God the press was not kind to him. Click bait made it even worse. The Nolan Trilogy and the MCU really created a perfect storm.

Yah reminds me of Garfield’s recent interviews.

The true answer is JLO, clearly. :o

The only answer.

I actually saw JLO once in LA. I was waiting in the lobby of this building where my gf at the time was interviewing for a gig. From like all the way down the block, I see JLO get out of a car and start walking toward the building. Could barely make her out but I just knew. And it wasn’t just me. The guy working the front desk was even like “Yo is that JLO?!” She got some kinda aura about her. You feel her presence before you even realize she’s there sorta vibe.

She walks in and homie at the front desk is like “Good morning Ms. Lopez!” and she says good morning back. Then ooks at me a gives me a smile and nod. Me and front desk guy leveled up in that moment.

Ishe was in town for the Super Bowl and performed where I worked for the Patriots after party. (They lost) She was awesome and radiated hotness.

Just wanted to wish everyone a happy and SAFE holidays. The last two years have been ****ed up and this place has always been a nice safe haven to escape from the horrors of the world around us so I appreciate y’all. Hope all y’alls family are safe and you can enjoy them during this time.

A year ago today, WW84 was released.

I don’t think the movie is good, but it’s not a disaster. Just that boring forgettable type of bad, imo. Any thoughts on this film a year later? Is your opinion on the film the same as the day you first saw it or has it gotten either worse or better since then.

I haven't watched it since so I'm still meh on it. Maybe I will try again.

In fact maybe tonight when I'm under the influence after my flight home!

I still haven't watched it. The reception it received is disheartening and has discouraged me into watching it. :csad:

My opinion remains the same as it was on my second watch, the movie is bit long and at times feels boring, I think it needed to go through a few more drafts to tell the story in more exciting way, apart from that, the movie needed better action choreography and better special effects.

The idea that WW can get over the problem by asking people to be more selfless and not take shortcuts to fulfill their wishes great idea.

It was a unique way to end third act, but the execution wasn't great.

I was disappointed by WW84.
For one thing, with the title referencing 1984 and Max Lord as the main villain I expected the story to have something to do with mass surveillance. I thought we might be getting a political espionage thriller, a symbol of truth confronting a system of lies. Of course nothing like that came to pass.
I think they decided early on that they wanted to bring Chris Pine back and then wrote the story to fit that, which I believe was a mistake. I wish they had left Steve Trevor alone.
I wish more time had been spent to develop more of a friendship between Diana and Barbara before she became Cheetah.

It really did seem like the script was an early draft, an awful lot of it didn't seem to have been thought through. I hope They get in some different writers for the third one.

Happy holiday hungover weekend to ya'll! Hope you're all safe.

Drank a lot, ate a lot, hugged a lot.

This sums it up.

(I havent rewatched yet)

Cheetah was wasted and honestly even Barbara kind of sucked. Just hamfisted and cliche. It was almost paint by numbers lame. I may mock Marvel for their generic crap like that but they at least make it somewhat interesting the first few times. Barbara sucked and Cheetah was just dumb.

They could have used any character to be the Big Bad...why use Maxwell Lord for it when it has zero to do with him at all? Most non comic fans have never heard of him and those of us who have know this is laughable mischaracterized. It is like Patty and the writers wanted to do their Trump commentary and figured they could goose it with the audience by naming him after a character from the comics.

I had no issue with Pine coming back if they wrote a coherent way to do it. They didn't. It fit the 80s motif but just felt creepy cause it isnt the 80s.

Im gonna need a lot of booze and edibles if I watch this later :p

Steve Trevor was one of the good parts of the original
film and they cheapened that death with this strange thing they did with him here bringing him back in someone else’s body. Aside from that the villains I found both disappointing. Shame as the film started well with the Themyscira part.

Don't Look Up

Man, what a way to waste such a cast. BUT! Cate Blanchett finally did it for me. Hotdamn. Just a meh and long movie.

Also, here is my top 10 for the year.
