So much potential... :csad:

Heck the suit looks pretty much perfect here:

Excluding the mask, I absolutely love this design. It's awesome how the gloves and boots don't look like actual gloves and boots and you can see his arms and feet, even his veins. It's clear that it's made of energy, instead of fabric.

I can't believe this was the director that did some kickass movies (Goldeneye, Zorro, heck even Vertical Limit was fun).
Now I wonder if he's the only director to work on both an entry in the early series and a film in a reboot series.

Seriously, what the heck? Why didn't it look like this in the movie? It looks perfect here:

Even the toy mask looked the right shape and accuracy:

I always thought that Martin Campbell was an odd choice for a movie like Green Lantern, he was more suited for a grounded heroes like Green Arrow or Batman.

Have y'all seen this? Apparently they CGI-ed his hands too. I KNEW there was something off about his stance, but I couldn't place what it was!

Is there any black there or is it all green? Because if the latter I can see why they changed it. IMO, the GL suit looks best when something is there to break up the color scheme a little so it's not just one solid color throughout.

It's honestly hard to tell with these sorts of things. Jon Favreau's biggest hit prior to Iron Man was Elf and the most successful Thor movie was directed by a guy who previously made low budget comedies in New Zealand. And I'm sure if the internet had been around back in the day, we'd have had people screaming about the guy who directed Beetlejuice making a Batman movie. I can see why WB would think a less obvious choice would work, it just didn't.

oh God this looks like in that dream I had last night, the nightmare goes on :funny:

He admitted post release, he knew nothing about the character and it's world and his experience with CGI (too the lengths required) was limited which he admitted as well.

A strong director yes, but one clearly who was the wrong choice.

There is some black. I'm finding better resolution images of these promotional pieces.

CGI suit was always trash. Dumb idea

I can see why they wanted a CGI costume since the suit is supposed to be a hard light construct. But there's no reason they couldn't use a practical suit with additional effects added in later. Doing the entire thing (including the mask) as CGI was stupid.

Simple little things like this could have went a long way:

IMO Bruce Timm's GL uniform design was pretty much perfect.

There's a minimalist sensibility that's wonderfully Jet Age about the whole thing.

Honestly, my favourite depiction of the JL was in an episode of JL: Unlimited. I believe it's the Starcrossed one. Where they have to go all of them in civilian mode due to being wanted as their superhero personas. Ever since seeing that, i've been wanting to see something like that on the big screen.

I was talking to GothamBat and we got to an interesting point which i am curious to hear your opinions on. What sucked less, Green Lantern or Josstice League?

It's a shame what happened to the film. I still maintain this redesign is a fantastic adaptation of the GL iconography.

Agreed, especially as pictured by those concept/renders.

I think simply for the emotional attachment of how much I love Snyder, BvS & Man of Steel, the hurt & pain of JL means that 'sucked' worse for me. The pain I feel of what we missed out on really hurts. GL was okay, I quite liked it and I simply don't feel the same level of 'hurt' as I do with the JL outcome of what should have been.

I went into JL with zero expectations after BVS but at very least I liked some of the performances. I can't really say that for GL, outside of Mark Strong. It'll never happen, but he's the one part of the original movie I'd be fine with showing up in the reboot.

Batarang letter opener that will be available at Comic-Con. Want.

I like both movies but both were disappointing. I think both have truly great moments in them it’s shat what connects those moments that’s the problem. Personally I prefer Justice League and I actually think if not for “moustache gate” wouldn’t bother me quite as much as it did. Still I know watching both movies I can enjoy them, we just deserved much better in both cases.

The treatment of Snyder, his vision and the film in general makes me SO angry of JL.

I'm not angry over the outcome of GL (2011).

So, yep, JL sucks more to me. I enjoyed it for what it was, I feel sad, angry and mad for what it should have been or allowed to have been.

I remember when i saw this, i was extremely hyped:
