So... They are rebooting STRIPES, the Murray/Ramis film as a CBS comedy...

Half of me is enraged.

But the other half is all "Lighten up, Francis".

I am guessing Ed's response is going to be the consensus.

"That's grounds... Let's riot."

I find myself less feeling the need to get worked up about these sort of things but I can't help to be put off a bit by this obe. Still... MASH exists in two highly acclaimed forms. SILENCE OF THE LAMBS and the HANNIBAL show are faves. I hold out hoe the same outcome for something like this.

Some things just shouldn't be touched. Hadn't they learned that with Ghostbusters? :(

"DEATH YOU ARE MY ***** LOVER!!!!!"

That's right, Greens..... you tell that mean ocean.

My reviews of JL:

It's decent but you know where Snyder begins and where Whedon ended.

Low 7/10

Yeah brah. Already two eps in myself and it's good. Berthal is the Frank we've all been waiting for. A real three dimensional representative of the essence of the character. Plus... It already feels like they are gonna throw us a good curve if what I think gets revealed about him later goes down.

Yes DJ, get your calendar sorted out. Births and marriages are secondary events, don't forget that.

Pretty sure my Marvel fanboy card membership has been revoked. I don't watch any of the shows now until way after they come out, if at all. Haven't seen the last several MCU films on opening weekend either. I didn't even see GotG2 in the theater.

people still watch Mr Robot lol

Yeah I bailed after season 1.

Haven't seen anything after season 1 either but more due to being busy. Plus I heard crap things about season 2. I did recently hear it is better binged then week to week though.

Lots of people hated Superman Batman but I thought it was alright. Maybe this will be the same.

Just got home from the 11am showing of JL. I think that it's a solid film with goodset pieces as a Supes fan I can't complain. Character stuff is tops but it does feel like 15-20 minutes of texture, visual and story. Wise has been left out. I don't think there is a clash of styles between Joss and Zackall that much but the seams are there to be seen. Also... I don't know it feels for sure like in some sequences that Whedon changed up the aspect ratio or something from what Snyder had shot. But... I had a good time. Audience clapped at the end they certainly don't seem to be shying away from future installments. My biggest issue is that the cuts to bring it under two hours affected the pacing. It's almost too breezy, too digestible. Having some breather moments would only enhance the film, which was also my issue with Thor.

Wow. You are going to be in serious fanboy credit - debt when you resume normal activities. ;)

Sounds promising.

I thought the runtime would cause issues and it definitely did. Apart from BatFleck's botox that was the biggest issue for me. The other issues didn't really bring the film down for me. Had a good time and will be rewatching next week some time.

I won't see it until next Friday.:(

You can watch Punisher as you wait.

I still have to run through the other Marvel shows first. And now I'm reading about Mudbound which looks amazing, too. I seriously need to quit working. :p

Holy **** they just announced that Star Wars: The Last Jedi is 2 hrs & 30 mins, thats insanely long.

And i'm one of those people who absolutely HATES going to the bathroom while the films still on, i literally make it a demand to drink as less as possible at the cinema.

They are prejudiced against those of us with tiny bladders. Damn. :(

At the very least, I've been downgraded from platinum to the silver card. :hehe:

On the silver card you can only watch Thor: The Dark World, AoS season 1 and Inhumans.

Can you watch Netflix on your phone at work (with headphones)? I know you said you used to read at work so I don't know exactly what you can get away with. Netflix is great for switching between TV to bed to public transport without stopping your viewing. Amazing for binge watching. What device(s) do you watch on at the moment?

Not really. Even though i run a machine i move around a lot. Besides while my boss lets us get away with texting and a litggle surfing, streaming shows might be a bit much.:p

I'm wondering if I shou I'd start wearing adult diapers to the movies if the run times are going to stay thus long. I passed on Blade Runner because of the long run time. :(

Least it will be epic!

Just set up a full blown home cinema system and tell your boss you're doing it to boost staff morale.

Hee hee. I'd do better streaming the football and basketball games. There's a lot of sports fans here. :p

Just picked up Battlefront 2.... now all I need to do is find GREENS.
