Luc Besson to direct Science Fiction comic Valerian

I do have a nasty feeling this will sink like a stone outside of mainland Europe.

This will probably bomb but I imagine it'll become a cult hit like Fifth Element. Although Fifth Element did have a prime Bruce Willis and was unique for its time.

I hope this film finds some kind of success. You can tell it's a passion project and although Besson is inconsistent, I like his wacky ideas and sheer balls. You can spot a Besson film a mile off. I respect that.

I knew a long time ago that Lucas "borrowed" (well plain thiefing! lol) a lot of visual looks for his Star Wars films from Pierre Christin & Jean-Claude Mezieres' French comics publication, 'Valerian & Laureline'. After Star Wars came out in '77, I asked my brother if the visuals were familiar he mentioned Valerian comics --back then we used to collect all kind of comics (2000AD, Tintin, Asterix, Conan, et al.,). Although we never own the Valerian one, we read some of them belonging to a friend of our. Eventually, after seeing The Empire Strikes Back & Return of the Jedi --I came to realisation that Lucas too many of the visual motif from Valerian. lol

I like how this movie went from, "nobody is gonna see it" to "I might go check it out now." It's getting commercials on Cartoon Network and Nick as well so they obvious are trying to get the word out as a summer tentpole.

Because this movie looks ****ing cool.

I don't know much about the premise of this but I do hope it manages to break out and succeed. DJ is right, visually it looks absolutely ****ing amazing.

Can someone explain to me the fascination Hollywood has with Cara Delavigne?

I assumed she was just another of those model turned actress types.

The quality of her acting should be on the cw. Not the big screen. It's that bad. the personality of a wooden plank on screen.

She always looks kinda dirty to me. Not the good dirty.

I think it's because she is friends with all the Hollywood women. Her acting seems pretty stiff.

She actually looks better than DeHaan in the clips. He looks bored, like he'd rather be anywhere else.
