Lucifer Lucifer General Discussion

I am not sure if its the makeup, lighting or something else. But, in a few scenes it always looks like Lauren German (Chloe) has a black eye in both of her eyes.

Her eye makeup is a little weird.

A change of pace from other episodes with a solid emotional quotient to it. God, I hoped the priest would stick around.

I tell you. Angels better get a new PR person. It seems every incarnation lately of them on tv and in movies...They are not nice.....For example..."Supernatural", "Constantine" (movie & tv), etc. :)

Angels aren't nice in the original script. Every time God needed someone punished, a city destroyed he sent an angel to do it.

Don't forget Dominion.

at one point during last ep, wasn't Lucifer playing Knocking on Heaven's Door on the piano? i could be wrong but that's what popped in my head

this was one of the better eps this season i think.

on an earlier note, i just want to tell everyone that i called the thing with Dan, but i was away from here for a few weeks so i couldn't tell yall lol
but man, i can't wait to find out how Lucifer will react when he discovers it.

Yeah, that seemed like the obvious choice.

It's amazing all the great stuff the leads pull off in between the case of the week elements.

That 'Oh God' in the end and Lucifer's surprise at himself was gold!

I watched the first 3-4 episodes, but haven't seen any since. Not because I didn't like it, but rather that there's just so much other s*** to watch. I like Ellis' performance, I just hope they amp up mythology and dial down the crime of the week stuff.

It'll probably be paired with Gotham for a full 22 episodes next year.

Great news. Expected, but still good to see it official.

I definitely want them to get deeper into the mythology.

Next season will be the first one where the showrunner has a whole season to plan himself. Tom Kapinos was the original showrunner but Joe Henderson took over after the pilot. That could partially explain why they seemed to be spinning their wheels in the first few episodes.

I do love how Lucifer constantly refers to her ex as Detective *****e. :D

i kinda love how Maze can't deal with adults, but can bond with a child AND offer her some alcohol lol

The writing so far this season has been on point every single episode!

I enjoyed last nights episode. I kind of like the twist to Lucifer's "mortality".

Loved it when he got shot, though.

Mom, huh. Looking forward to next season.

I've really enjoyed this and unlike a lot of people I've read in here I enjoyed the trailer so didn't have to be proven wrong. I've never read any of the source material so I don't have that premature disgust when it doesn't feel like a faithful adaption which is similar to what most of the general audience would be like. I've done a little wiki research on his character in the comics but still don't know much so it still doesn't plague me as other shows do. But even then I feel like it's the type of character where you don't need to be faithful. Characters built upon concepts that existed prior to being in the comics are more likely to used a bit less faithfully to better acclimate the general audience.

But having seen the whole season I enjoyed it. The last three or four episodes have focused less on the case of the week trope and became it's own little arc which is definitely a benefit. I think they learnt from Gotham that people don't want a whole season of case of the week but prefer little stories that fit into an overall theme. Gotham realised that and started with the Electrocutioner arc and have kept things the same since. I also think, and this may be controversial, that the police procedural style is another good thing and something they've also learnt from other media. If you look at the Marvel films the ones that have done best since IM2 have been superhero films based around a different concept. Ant-Man was a heist, Cap 2 was a political thriller, even GotG wasn't your typical superhero story. So making it a police procedural may have benefitted it as the general audience will have a familiarity with it.

Lastly, I definitely think the show was brilliantly written. That last episode I had to constantly check how much time was left because i couldn't predict how it was going to end. I'm glad it got more supernatural as time went on and can see it delving even more into mythology next season.

I do like how Lucifer (The Devil) is not evil...he punishes those who are evil. But, he still mischievous.

It was a really good finale. A bit predictable but very fun nonetheless.

I really enjoyed this show, even though the procedural element was the weakest part. Luckily Lucifer and Chloe's sideplots picked up steam as the season progressed.

Lucifer's just hilarious in his total inability to learn anything about himself and I was always intrigued by the relationship between him, Amenadiel, and Maze. That part at the end when he offered to do anything God wanted if He would only save Chloe was quite moving.

Chloe was dull until her sideplot about the Palmetto case heated up. Her eye makeup makes her look like a hospital patient; that needs to be fixed. Dan annoyed me at first but he grew on me so much that I was devastated when I thought he'd been killed and I'm worried what will happen to him since he turned himself in to the police. Trixie is the most adorable child on television. I hope she appears in a lot more episodes next season.

Dr. Linda Park was the kind of character who could've been awful or even borderline offensive but she turned out to be really smart.

I'm majorly excited to see Lucifer's mom next season but I'm trying to temper my expectation because this show reminds me of Sleepy Hollow and that show took the biggest nosedive I've ever seen in quality between seasons 1 and 2. Fingers crossed the same won't happen to Lucifer.

My rating: 7.5/10

Dr. Linda is majorly underappreciated lol
