yeah i didn't like this episode nearly as much as i have the other ones. the only thing that interested me was what Maze and Amenadiel (Sp?) have cooked up
The show is employing too many convoluted stalls. Chloe's obstinate disbelief in the face of solid evidence is getting grating. Everytime she belittles and puts Lucifer down, implying that he's just a megalomanical psychotic, the joke's on her. Surely we aren't meant to think that the co-protagonist is an idiot.
No, I don't think we would. Lucifer has told her the truth every single episode of the show, she's seen his powers at work for every single episode of the show, she's got video footage of him displaying supernatural strength and his face morphing, she's seen his face morph in a glass, she's witnessed him teleport to pluck a bullet out of mid-air, she's seen him get shot without taking damage, she's seen him drive several people insane with a single look after which all they do is ramble about how he's Satan, and at no point does she even consider it enough to say "fine, let's assume you're the Devil, can you prove that to me?" That would be a fairly reasonable way to go about it.i don't think she's an idiot, but i think we'd all probably react similarly to things like this. she's very cut and dry, all about the facts so i feel like she will realize it soon enough. i think it's very in character for her to do her homework on her own, like in ep 2 she did some surveillance on him, got close enough to check for a bulletproof vest, had dan look into the club etc.

No, all she does is go "hah hah, yeah right" and look for bulletproof vests. She's only invested in proving he's a fake, not in finding out the truth. I get how they can make this out to be deflection and fear, but it still makes her look like a moron.
Yes, for one fleeting second. As I said earlier, a "Hail Mary" save from the writers in order to drag out the story - but that does not matter. Lucifer reacted to being shot with shock and astonishment, but Chloe didn't listen to him. She never listens to him. The video footage is still there. The previous events still happened and the events after still happened. She was ready to believe until she shot him and it actually hurt him.
I really liked this episode. I was sad to see the priest go.
