Just as long as they keep "Sweet Christmas" and his yellow blouse in. I'm down for whoever.

Mustafa seems like a good fit though.

As for skin pigment, I would not worry about that. What ever tanning failed to do movie magic can adjust.

I hope Mustafa doesn't get the role, I don't see him as a believable Luke Cage. I think he'd play a good Falcon though.

Hey, if Rebecca Romijn Stamos, Ryan Reynolds, Chris Evans and Jon Favreau can all play multiple characters in the Marvel Universe, so too can Robert Downey Jr. play both Iron Man and Luke Cage. He's got my vote.

"I'm the dude playin the hero that's playin another hero!"

Yeah, they'd probably give it to Tyrese Gibson, being the 'hottest property' in the poll list (right now).
But most of them 'look the part', and I doubt Luke Cage is gonna be a casting nightmare.

Terry Crews, hands down.

Can't get a better Cage.
Huge physique. Already established as an action hero. Has a great sense of humor that Cage needs. Plus, bonus points for getting to flex his pecs. And ride a tiger.

DOUBLE SUN POWERRRRRRRRRRRR

Except for the fact that Terry Crews cannot act in a serious film to save his life and is too old.

Robert Downey Jr. FTW!

Luke Cage - the Old Spice Guy
The Punisher - Mayhem, the Allstate Guy
Wasp - Flo, the Progressive Insurance Girl
Reed Richards - The World's Greatest Salesperson in the World from Nationwide
Howard the Duck - The Aflac Duck
The Lizard - The Geico Gecko

Cool, thanks.

In all seriousness, I love the Old Spice commercials but I could never take that guy seriously as Luke Cage. I'd just be expecting him to knock a mounted cop off his horse, hop on it and ride it backwards.

Wait a minute....how are these two statements on the same wavelength....? If Crews isn't serious enough, how the hell is blackface RDJ supposed to be taken seriously.....?

In all honesty, I wouldn't remotely expect (or want) a Heroes For Hire movie to take itself seriously. The comic never did. Crews is good at comedy, and HFH definitely has a comic tone to it --- not Deadpool bat**** zany, but tongue-in-cheek.

In fact, I wouldn't mind seeing a Heroes For Hire movie set as a 70s period piece in blaxploitation/kung fu cinema style, with Tarantino or Rodriguez at the helm. They're born for that.

Dwayne Johnson is hardly black, it be a disservice to the black community to have one of the very few African-American superheros they have be played by a Samoan.
How about Tom Cruise for the Black Panther while we are at it?

I saw this too late, the guy below beat me to it. :yay:

So being half African-American is "hardly black?" and would be a "disservice to the black community?"

Meet Dwayne Johnson's father, "Rocky Johnson."

Maybe next time you should consider educating yourself prior to speaking on behalf of an entire group of people. Eh?

I thought that it was common knowledge who Rocks dad was considering he and Tony Atlas were one of the best tag team champions during the Hulk Hogan years of ruling wrestling.

That's funny!

I don't like the Rock for Cage but his lighter colored skin shouldn't be an issue. Many Blacks or Afro-Americans, Afro-Asians, Afro-Europeans are light complexioned and don't consider themselves anything other.

This is one was serious:

And this one was obviously a joke:

And I completely disagree about not taking it too serious. I want every movie Marvel makes to be on the same level as all the ones they've made so far.

Based on that new design of Cage with he's bald and goateed, it is hard to argue that The Rock would be a great choice. He pretty much looks just like him and if I've ever seen a guy that looks bulletproof, it's The Rock.

Eh. The thing about the Rock, he looks big and tough but he doesn't look mean, ya know? Luke Cage is a hardened, street tough mean guy who should be pretty scary. The Rock doesn't look scary to me.

Have you seen Faster? He looked pretty hardened and mean in that.

This.

Rock was definitely intimidating in Faster. In just the first few minutes, before he even spoke, his body language and facial expressions really sold it as a guy you do not wanna play with.

I think at this point, I would think Rock would be a realistic top option for the role. Moderately bankable, should be open to a top-lining role in a potential franchise, more or less looks the part, pre-existing relationship with Disney. Get a good script and supporting cast and it can float.

Agreed Roc I think is the more bankable choice although I still like terry Crews for the role for aesthetics.
