I want there to be some definitive news on the Power Man movie at comic-con... die-hard Luke fans deserve something..

Well if there is a Powerman movie. It wont be coming out till after 2011.Damn.Cant believe they make an Electra movie before his!?! Well at least they didnt give away the rights to some other studio to really mess it up.At least that way if it gets done it will be by marvels studios with a better chance of being done right.

Should Luke wear something that's a type of costume? I've seen Luke wear some costumes that could work in a live action movie, and in real life.

Nope. Regular street clothes will do. Although I'd like at least one scene to pay homage by having him in blue jeans, bright Tims, and a yellow t-shirt (or any kind of yellow shirt). If it's set in the winter, make it a yellow jacket.

I see him as not really having access to fancy get-ups, and not one to sew himself something... so he would go with regular street closes.

I thought a clever homage to the yellow shirt, would be along the lines of him coming home after his transformation (perhaps being slightly enlarged)... He goes into his closet for a change of closes, and pulls out a yellow button down. He puts it on, but it is too tight. He is only able to button the bottom couple of buttons, thereby leaving the deep cleavage, exposing his chest. He looks in the mirror for a second... giving moviegoers a view of the classic Luke Cage appearance... He then winces and pulls the shirt off. Kinda like the comment in X-Men about "yellow spandex".

It looks like Singleton is the director... He has worked with Gibson on a couple of other films, so if this is all true, I am sure that relationship is what did it for Tyrese.

It's nothing new. IMDb has generally had Singleton/Gibson/Ramsey listed as the director, star, writer for years. They've all been attached to the project since at least 2004 (As far as I can tell, Ramsey turned in his first draft 1/04, Singleton attached 2/04 and immediately wanted Tyrese in the lead).

What's important is that the project has no traction right now. And let's hope it stays that way, as the current assemblence of talent would produce an unmitigated disaster.

Ensemble cast for "Heroes for Hire" movie may be the best bet. Play the contrasts for laughs. No-nonsense Misty Knight, rebellious Colleen Wing, trying-to-be-self-centered Luke Cage and the wide-eyed, "Aw shucks," kung fu white boy that none of them can figure out.

I hate to sound like a newb, but I always thought Will Smith could be good in this role.

Since I doubt that will happen I like the idea of Idris Elba seems like a good candidate for Luke Cage. I very much looking forward to RocknRolla.

first off let me just say i respect you opinion cerealkiller!
and I am a newblood but Hells No! I will personally burn all my damn books if Will Smith ever comes near any Hero DC or Marvel I have ever read. I don't want that dude to be Bother Voodoo let alone Luke Cage. I know for some strange reason that dude has struck a chord with the general viewing audience, and view him as a great actor, but i am totally befuddled by it.If there's a comic book god I hope he will never play an established Black hero.

Luke Cage wearing a costume in the movie can work. Check out the first picture. It's a mondern version of the original costume. And in the second picture it looks to me like Luke is wearing gray jeans, maybe a red t-shirt, combat boots, and a leather jacket.

At this point, I'd just like to see this project go somewhere! I thought Sony had taken it on years ago and it would be somewhere at this point, but Singleton is on complete cruise control with the project, and it currently has no traction.

Optimal solution! I think Marvel needs to push ahead with some smaller projects and stop going after all $150 million movies, imho.

Hell yes on the yeller shirt! It's obvious target and prevents stray fire from hitting bystanders.
