^ hahaha Rich you are killi'n me. but i agree with youse!

I just wanted to add what does a everybody feel about Luke's look if there's amovie. This has probably been mentioned before, but i am too lazy to read 24 pages of stuff.
The Yellow shirt, Tiara, chain look and boots or the black t-shirt look jeans now?
I'm sorta up in the air cause I dig the yellow shirt, but thinking it might be dumb looking on screen. The Black T-shirt would ground it more in realism, but who cares about realism when it's a comic book movie.

I think regular clothes is the way to go... here is what I said a page or so back:

I see him as not really having access to fancy get-ups, and not one to sew himself something... so he would go with regular street clothes.

I thought a clever homage to the yellow shirt, would be along the lines of him coming home after his transformation (perhaps being slightly enlarged)... He goes into his closet for a change of clothes, and pulls out a yellow button-down. He puts it on, but it is too tight. He is only able to button the bottom couple of buttons, thereby leaving the deep cleavage, exposing his chest. He looks in the mirror for a second... giving moviegoers a view of the classic Luke Cage appearance... He then winces and pulls the shirt off. Kinda like the comment in X-Men about "yellow spandex".

and here is a peek at what the tiara could look like:

But overall... the black shirt / street clothes is best:

Two words... Erik King! Better known as Sgt. Doakes on Showtimes excellent Dexter!
Seriously, this guy is probably the coolest bad ass on TV right now... Give this guy a Movie franchise!

I really like this choice actually. Crewes is still my #1 though.

As for the costume, there should be at least one scene with a yellow shirt and blue jeans (if not half the movie) but I think regular clothes (similar to how The Punisher wore regular clothes when he wasn't working) would do fine. His identity is public. He doesn't need a costume or anything like that. He's just this guy down the street with powers. If someone is being mugged he should be able to walk up to them, tell them to stop but be looked at as just this crazy guy with a death wish. That is until he's shot and all it does is ruin his shirt and make him mad.

Something I can see working though (after reading Black Panther vol.2) is having a nightclub scene where he's wearing a blue suit with a yellow dress shirt underneath. Fight ensues, take off the jacket, maybe the top buttons of the shirt are ripped off and you have the classic costume (just no yellow booties and tiara).

Oh yes. The yellow shirt , chain, boots, and blue jeans can work today. Most diffenetly.

I'm sorry, but while I like Crews in a host of roles...alot of these guys lack the star power for a leading role...which is what we are talking about.

We are talking about who is a good fit for Luke Cage. If a particular person thinks Crewes is well suited for Cage for one reason and one reason only, that he can do the character justice than rock on. I dont agree on Crewes, but I respect it.

I diagree that Crews doesn't have the stuff to carry a Cage film... He may not be a major draw, but not everyone is Brad Pitt... and obviously the Brad Pitts of the world could not pull off Cage.

Crews is the man for this role. And as already said on this thread... who else can be believable saying "Sweet Christmas"? :cwink:

This is a classic pic... Cross could be the guy, just because of the shirt

still no official update on the Power Man film.. grrr.. since Vin Diesel wants to be the villain, let him be Diamondback, or some Cage foe or somebody else, that can be upgraded for 09..

How about Dave Chappelle?
"I'm Luke Cage, Bee-aatch!"
(I keed, I keed!)

Terry Crews or Michael Jai White are great Choices for Luke Cage....

I rather marvel go with a SMALL budget (30-35mill) and give one of these guys a chance at Luke Cage, THEN go with a MEDIUM budget (40-70mill) and use Tyrese to justify the Budget then the BEST choice!!! (just my 2 cents...)

BTW Latinoreview.com did a write up on the Luke Cage script and the OUTFIT??!! Yellow jump/track suit top, jeans and timberlands, with oakley shades (better than the TRADITIONAL SCAPE GOAT OF ALL BLACK HUH?? x-men/g.i.joe...smh......

"sweet christmas"
