Johnny Flynn is my pick.
If he never plays this character at all he will be to Mad Hatter what Willem Dafoe is to The Joker. It’s almost like he’s born to play Mad Hatter.
I'll take it.Oh Schlosser just agrees with Andy on principle.

I genuinely wanted him to be Mad Hatter back in the late 90's early 2000's but now he is too old and feels liek a hold over from the Burton Schumacher days... maybe he can be the Mad Hatter in that flash filmThey should just recycle Martin Short's Mad Hatter.

Isn’t that what they did in Gotham?View attachment 39355 View attachment 39356
I could go for a sort of Alice Cooper style Hatter. Local rockstar with leather pants, a wonderland inspired jacket and a Cheshire Cat shirt passing out drops at his concert.
I still see him as more of a Joker. I really don't see what aspect of the Hatter you see in him.
Again with the “not big enough of a name!”. The studio will not dictate who is cast for Reeves’ Joker. I’d literally bet my left testicle that when the guy is announced, the general audience will ask “who?”.
And some actors with Oscars aren’t movie stars. Ask your aunt and little cousin and next door neighbor who Dano is by showing just his face. Let’s see what they say. Film geeks are not the general audience. Most ppl would know his face not his name. By that logic, you saying Keoghan, Bell, Ahmed, Hoult, MacKay can never play Joker until they become bigger stars. If that’s the mentality behind this Joker’s casting, then I would tell them straight up that the way they’re going about it sucks and is extremely limited. You look for talent not names. Joker doesn’t need a movie star. It needs a good actor. And sometimes those two things are separate. Especially when you’re looking for an actor in his late 20’s or early 30’s who can play him.shauner111 is always going on about how the general people don't know nothing, not even who Aquaman is. Paul Dano isn't some niche actor, he's been in movies for 20 years, some of them even very big, Oscar nominated movies!
