Mad Max

This game I feel like is a sleeper for most people. I'm absolutely loving it. Found myself on it for hours the other night just driving around, tackling a ton of side stuff. Collecting scrap and completing challenges. Updating my car and Max himself.

And the game is beautiful I think, loving the photo mode too. Been really utilizing that a lot to take some great pictures.

I've played all the Arkham games and I gotta say the fighting in this game is better than all of those games. It's in your face and more skill based. I find myself getting my ass kicked frequently where as in Arkham I can take out 50 thugs at once without getting hit. I love the perfect parry idea where you have a small window to land one and break an opponents limb. Idk overall it feels better and more satisfying to me than the Arkham games.

This game is amazing so far, been playing it since Sunday and most of the time I've just been collecting scrap and clearing out camps.

I'm doing the same man, exploring and doing so much side stuff. Having tons of fun playing this for hours.

My only problem now is do I keep my car as a heavily armored tank to run through other vehicles or take off the armor and make it fast as possible.

Hmm not sure. Been upgrading my car a lot as well. Also have collected 3 other cars for my garage.

Just got this earlier in the week, loving it so far, and I have only played a few hours. Love the combat and the making of the magnum opus.

Only problem is, driving to and from work I know get the urge to ram other cars!

I just bought this game and so far I really like it.

I bought it when it came out, but stopped playing around the time I got to Gas Town. Need to pick it back up.

It's great, well worth the money, if you like you can just go driving around for hours raiding settlements and smashing other cars, it's great.

Ok I got this game and I absolutely adore it! I didn't think I would love it as much but it's amazing!

Max is so hunky in this and I don't usually go for men like him. I love his dog too! I wonder when they'll announce a sequel. They would have to include furiosa dlc if they did. They would be mad to miss that opportunity.

Does anyone know if it performed well in terms of profits?

It is an awesome game, even when I get new ones I always find myself going back to it at some point.

I would love it if we got a sequel but I believe it wasn't a big seller when it was first released.

Man, I really wish I could see the appeal. I was looking forward to an open world Mad Max game, but after an hour I threw in the towel.

Boo! I guess they released it too close to fallout 4 which got most of the attention and critical acclaim. What a shame because it really is an amazing game

It's one of those games were putting an hour in doesn't do it justice. The game just gets better and better the more you play it and you get more things to do and tasks to carry out.

I may be wrong so don't quote me but the fact that there is no news about a sequel may be telling. Though I have been out of the loop with games for years until recently, so the lack of news could mean nothing.

I would LOVE a sequel. I recently beat the game and it's one of my favorites of this gen. It was a stunningly gorgeous game with a lot of creativity. My biggest complaint is that the strongholds you develop felt so lifeless and empty. It's something that I would like to see them improve in a sequel. But overall it's easily the best movie-based game out there.

Have you don't all of the side missions? I have been skipping the death runs myself so I hope it doesn't come back to bite me!

I did all the side missions, excluding most of the death runs (there's a few missions that require it); I'm just not a racing guy. You'll lose out on some rewards (mostly unlockable cars) and cash/parts, but 1) the Opus is all you need; and 2) cash/parts can be acquired other ways.

Awesome, thanks.

That's unfortunate. I'm pretty ruthless when it comes to games, TV, comics, etc. If I'm not being entertained, or worse, if I'm bored, there's no reason to keep playing/watching/reading. Maybe I would enjoy Mad Max eventually, I'm just not willing to sit through who-knows-how-many hours of boredom to get to the good stuff.

I apprached it by putting in an hour or two a day doing the side missions and then the story missions, upgrading max and the car. Busting up camps and kickin @$$ was really fun. Didnt bother racing because it wasnt for me as it usually isnt in most games.

The game doesn't hold your hand at all; you can pretty much do anything and go anywhere and whenever you want. That was my problem at first, too. The game seemed aimless and empty at first, but that was due to how I was playing: randomly doing side quests, looting and knocking down scare crows quickly got boring without any context. You gotta get started on the story missions. Those will give you the context for everything that the game offers and more importantly gives you the drive and desire to do the side stuff because it shows you how important all the side quests are for your journey. It's a game that really is as boring or exhilarating as you make it.
