Magnum P.I.

Watched the first episode of the new season. Apart from Magnum and Higgins being in a relationship now, everything else was more or less the same which was good. No change of style or direction. It was a seamless transition from one network to another and I wouldn't have even known.

I hope they don't break them up for the sake of it. They seem to work well as a couple and doesn't kill the series at all.

And canceled again.

Nooo! :argh:

That was a comfort show and I enjoyed it. Have they actually filmed all the remaining episodes of the second half of the season to give it a proper ending? Is there a way for them to be saved from cancellation once again with another network pickup?

There calling it season 5B on some sites. NBC might hold it to ration out post strike content or might release it early to supplement the strike breaker shows.

I think that the strike CONTRIBUTED to its cancellation.NBC simply couldn't hold onto the actor's contract for what was looking like another year, without producing new episodes.. Thats not fair to the actors.

Well after cutting all of the 5-0 carry over reoccurring cast when the pandemic protocols went into effect the show must have ridden that bubble for its run. 5 years as an unwanted show by many broadcast TV watchers with Tom Selleck still on the air as New York's longest serving Police Commissioner was relatively good reboot. Not 5-0 getting 10 years without an active Jack Lord around or even Star Trek TNG standard of 7 years, but respectable.

Well we had the series finale this week. Sad to see it coming to an end again. Jay Hernandez wasn't too happy with the way it ended, but it did leave everyone in a good place. They teased the possibility of Magnum and Higgins getting married eventually. Did still feel like an standard episode though than a proper finale.
